"Shocking and in many ways horrifying, yet a very wise and powerful novel. A book I read feverishly and which has haunted me ever since. Her characters are marvelous."

Slaughterhouse-Five

"So half the time I was so weirded out I didn't know what to think, but somehow it has stuck with me. I love his other books as well, but this one is more, well, bizarre."

Angela’s Ashes (Frank McCourt, #1)
by
"I am so glad my ancestors left Ireland. I jest, but only slightly. This is such a lovely book, the prose is so... lyrical almost. I actually might love this book."

King Lear

"Possibly my favorite Shakespeare. The scene when he runs out into the storm...amazing. Also ties into lots of literature, and is very demonstrative of medieval natural philosophy, amoung other things."

Dracula
by
"I just read this and it is messed up! Oh, and seriously really freaky. Totally way creepier than I thought it would. With his creepy graveyard earth and his evil red eyes and his ability to turn into mist. There is more, but people should just read it."

Frankenstein: The 1818 Text
by
"This is so, so, so much better than all the weird stuff that has spawned from it. Not only is it a capstone piece of romantic literature, it is also a facinating look at human nature. And it is also pretty cool. I mean, the monster reads these crazy things and anyway, it is very interesting."
