Blood Red Road (Dust Lands #1)
by
"If you haven't read this yet, you're really missing out. It is a little challenging to begin with, because it's written (and spelled) in the main character's dialect, but the story is really amazing. Of all the dystopian series that I've read so far, this is by FAR the best one, beside The Hunger Games, of course! I don't understand why I can't find this on any other lists on the site! So I created my own. Read and Enjoy!"

"Great follow-up to Blood Red Road. Takes the characters to places that you wouldn't expect."

Divergent (Divergent, #1)
by
"This is another great story with a strong female lead. This one does resemble The Hunger Games a little, but it has it's own ideas behind it and the author has a different way of approaching things. There are a lot of twists and turns because all the characters hold a lot of secrets. The story moves along with not too much action, but then the plot hits you like tornado and stuff gets real! And stays that way. It's currently being filmed in Chicago starring Theo James as the male lead. If you don't know who he is, you're missing out! I think he's a little too old for the role, but I think that his look and demeanor fit the character perfectly."

Insurgent (Divergent, #2)

"I wasn't able to read this book without thinking of Theo James as the male lead, and let me tell you, that's not a bad thing! This is a great sequel to the first book and follows the story along very well. Ummm, Theo James. "

Legend (Legend, #1)
by
"I heard a lot of really great things about this series, but in truth I wasn't as impressed with it as I was with others that have lower ratings. I did like the characters a lot and they are much more ethnically diverse than most of the other series. In that sense I think it represents a more accurate vision of the future. But I did find aspects of the plot to be slightly unbelievable, even taking into consideration the fact that is a made up world. I still think it is worth reading, though."

"Good sequel that moves the story along rather well."

Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1)
by
"When I read the description of this book, I thought that I really wouldn't enjoy it, but I thought I'd give it a try anyway. I was really surprised at how good the writing is in some areas. Mafi does a great job at describing her character's emotions and surroundings, although she does go over the top quite a bit. She's at her best when she uses the least amount of words possible to create something, and when she does, it's actually breathtaking."

Destroy Me (Shatter Me, #1.5)

"Nice addition to the series that's not really a sequel, but a short story written from the point of view of one of the main characters, but not the female protagonist. It takes place during the time between the first book, Shatter Me, and the second, Unravel Me."
