What Members Thought
Wonder is one of those books that everyone should read, because everyone can learn from it. Yes it's about 10 year olds, but we all can learn more about being emphatic to others. I do hope that this becomes required reading in the middle grades, because we've all been there and we all know that kids can be mean and hurtful. I hope that those who do read this can put themselves in all the characters shoes, and if you identify more with the bullies I hope you take a long hard look at yourself and

I saw the trailer for the movie and immediately thought i need to read this book. I wasn't wrong. What a wonderful and inspirational story! I really enjoyed reading about August's life and the way the author used positivity to wrap up everything in the end. I think i needed a book like that this week and this one really delivered.
Its for sure one of the better young adult fiction novels out there right now!

Read this before you watch the movie! This book does an absolutely phenomenal job at capturing what it's like to be in fifth grade. I totally forgot about how in 4th grade you're still playing during recess and then in 5th grade it suddenly just jumps to talking about other people. 4.5 stars. Sweet and interesting. Auggie was born with a very different face and, although he looks strange and a little scary, there is nothing wrong with his mind. He starts school in 5th grade after being home-schooled and encounters many challenges. I enjoyed the differing points of view and the short chapters but the parents seemed a little "too-good-to-be-true" as did a few of the other characters. But it was nice to see so much love for once! I would recommend this book.
