Note: I have taken out cards where we can use a draw 2 (you will see on our team spreadsheet where I have made notes) ; so for example, hand three has a Draw 2 and also 2x2 ; so I'm assuming we will just use the same book for both of those 2 cards.
Where there is a hand like hand 2, we will use the draw 2 for 2 different numbered cards so I haven't removed any of them yet as we don't know what they will be.

Our tracking spreadsheet is here I'm happy to share with you all to be able to edit, you can enter in your books that you intend to read and then once they are actually read I'll add in the read date and hand number they are being used for. Or if you just want to post in our team thread, then me or one of the co-caps can add into the s/sheet :)

Important

*Only books STARTED after the challenge begins can count. The challenge starts on Wednesday February 1, 2016 at 7pm AEDST (Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time). To see when this is in your time zone, use this countdown

*Books must be more than 100 pages in length. If it is a Childrens book or a graphic novel, we need to verify it is more than 25,000 words on arbookfind.com.

*Your finished books need to be on your Uno shelf AND marked as "read" for them to count.

* Please make notes of how your book may count. The more options we have the better! (Letters used in UNO are Z,O,T,H,F,I,V,E,S,N,K,P and of course if another team member has read the book before. Please friend our team members!)

* This is a social challenge, not a competitive one. We'd love to get points, but the main aim of the game is to have fun, read lots and get to know each other :)

Well, I don't think we've done UNO together (have we?), but you're right that you tend to come across the same people in challenges because of the time zone. ;)

I've checked out our cards for Feb and posted them above.
Nikk & Kathleen, if you can also PM me your email address and I'll give you edit rights to our s/sheet and the tracking s/sheet.

What sticks out at me is that, as a team, during Feb we need to read 7 books that have been read before by other team members.
Also "V" can be hard (card 7) and we have 7 of those!

Reserve a read book immediately for "V" if it fits? There's always V.E. Schwab/Victoria Schwab to turn to!

As it happens I ordered The Unbound last week so I will read that in February :)

If you are both ok with it, the last 2 years I have found that as people read a book if they fill in the tracking spreadsheet, or post the details here of everything that it may count for (That we then put in the tracking s/sheet), then by the end of the month we are generally on track and so don't need to 'claim' cards to read for.
We can check our status after 2 weeks and then make a call on if there are any potential issues where we may need to read for a particular card. What do you think?

There is also Victoria Aveyard and her new book comes out early Feb which i am more than likely going to be pre-ordering in the next week or so. :-) Also Rachel Vincent, she has a few series going at the moment.

Also if a few of us like to read series, we could find some book 7s. I know I am currently reading through the Charley davidson series in preparation for book 11 though I am only up to book 4 :-P

I've put a few books in the tracking s/sheet that I know I will read next month. I'll go searching for specific things once the team is here and do some shelf compares to get a few Reverse cards covered :)

Sounds good as I know in past teams we have had slower readers get a bit miffed when a card they had 'claimed' and were reading for but then filled by a more speedy reader who had had completed all their alotted goals already.

Also just a heads up that my daughter starts school on 31st January so for that first few days of feb, I may not be sure whether I am coming or going but should be back on board by the weekend

Yes, it is a good idea to add all the team mates as friends and then we can easily see if someone has read a book before. I think we generally have books in common, I was going to go hunting over the next few days and see what I may want to read next month :)

I have a year's worth of books planned for a couple of 12 month challenges - so have 40 must read books on a list - I will pick out them first then expand onto TBR pile.

If I spot a couple of books that I can use to read - is it alright to assign them to my UNO shelf ready for the start so I know I have earmarked them?

I've seen you around too. I'm in Melbourne, VIC. So nice to have so many Aussies together, that's easier with keeping up with chats, I hope :)
