2013 Reading Challenge
I am! I have only set my goal to 15 books, though. I was going to set it higher, but since I am going to be heading to college soon, and I will have a lot of things I have to take care of and adjust to this summer, I decided to lower it. I'm already about a third of the way through, though, so I probably could have made my goal higher!
Sarah wrote: "What's the reading challenge? Sounds like something I'd be interested in!"Joined! I chose 12, one for each month (even though I'm already 4 months behind!) haha
I have my goal set to 90 and have read 33 books so far this year.
My best friend and I both decided to do the reading challenge this year. Originally we each set our goal to 75, but found ourselves reading so fast we'd both reach our goal before the end of the summer. I mention my best friend because our new current goal is set to 150. The goal kind of intimidates me. Neither of us would have set it that high if we hadn't motivated (and dared) each other. So far I've read 56 books this year.
I've pledged to read 50 books and I'm on schedule. I also took a personnal pledge to read 8000 pages. My favourite so far was Eat, Pray, Love. It was a second read for me but I enjoyed it even more this time around.
I set my goal in January at 65 books. I am behind but I plan to make up for it in the summer. I get lots of reading done in the summer.
I made my goal for 50 books since I was able to read about 40 - 45 in the second half of last year. So far I am 22 out of 50.
My goal is 100, and I'm at 46 currently. I first set a goal of 50, then quickly realized I was going to read way more than that, so I changed it to 75. Again I was way ahead of schedule, so I changed it to 100.
I upped my goal from 50 to 75; I'm at 44 (my total says 42, but until I'm ready to write a review I leave the books sitting at 99%).I haven't been as social this year; too many good books to read!!
I set my goal at 30. I would normally set it much higher but I just had my second baby girl and my kiddos come first.
I set my goal to 40 and am ahead of schedule at the moment, but not sure if I should increase the challenge to 50 or not. Then again, it's a challenge, right? ;-) Ah well, I'll decide on that soon hehe.
Well, I goaled myself at 24 books which I figured would be reasonable with work and homelife. Turns out I've already read 18 books! SO! I can see this goal being 'stretched'.
i joined in Apr so set my goal to 100 Im very behind lol but the library will be getting a new set of quickreads in soon

Do you have a favorite so far? 56 is a lot of books.
I set my goal to 24 books. I'm at 21 right now. Since we still have more than half the year left I think I'm going to double my goal soon. Maybe set it to 45 or 48. I've never read that much in a year. As the years go on I keep reading more and more and reading much quicker as well. Always challenge yourself!
Great work everyone! Just from the people who have responded to date we have a total of over 1600 books to complete! I am so happy to know that you all are as enthusiastic about this as I am.Does anyone have a favorite or stand out book so far that they would like to recommend?
I have set my goal to 20, I am at 7 right now (soon 8) Don't think I'm going to set my goal any higher this year, but maybe I'll increase it to 30 or 35 next year.
I am! My goal is currently set to 60 however, I am ahead of my goal according to their calculations, so I may have to increase. Still debating because I will be starting Grad school this fall and know I will be slowing down to focus on studies.
I originally set my goal to 25 books, however it reccommended me to increase my goal, so I did. It is currently set at 50 book and I have read 21 so far. :-)

I really liked
and
.
I might have set the bar a little low for myself at 50 but I can change that as it gets closer, a fun way to keep track!
I'm participating! I'm going for 52 books in 52 weeks. Last year I did it in a Facebook group and actually got a little further than that. I signed on here, got the widget, and added it to my blog. I'm already at 15... yay!Laura

I absolutely loved Silver Linings Playbook but two more off the beaten path books that I liked were A Certain Slant of Light and The Silent Land. Gone Girl was great too!
Figured I could manage 52 books this year. I'm almost half way there at 23. Of course, I am always willing to increase accordingly.
Set my goal pretty low, to 20 books, but thinking about uping it since I've been reading more lately and theres quiet a few books I'm excited to start reading. Any books you guys suggest?

A favourite book I have
Read it twice. It is a book that really has stuck with me over the years and a book I compare other books to.
My goal is to read at least 20 books this year, because I can see hectic new job schedule ahead. So far I've reached 13. Obviously I'll up the goal soon :) I get this feeling that whenever I'm stressed up or get busy, the more I'll read, which is good! :DMy favourite book this year are The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change and The Almond Tree
My goal is 50 and considering that I'm at 38% already and summer hasn't even started, I may need to up the ante.

If you like fantasy, I would highly recommend "Discovery of Witches" or the Infernal Devices series.
And if you haven't yet read "The Great Gatsby" or "1984", I would recommend doing so as they will be referenced alot this year.
My goal is to read 40 books, which I did! I'm reading more books though. Next year or this summer I might make it to 60.

As for me, I upped my goal from 60 to 80 books. And I have already read 32. I am very much enjoying stretching myself and the number of pages I can read in one year.
