Mr. Murakami,
I love you. But please, hire a new editor. More specifically, one that isn't in awe of you or afraid of you, but can stand up to you and tell you to GET TO THE POINT ALREADY. This book could have been wonderful, and perfect, and could have fit easily into under 400 pages.
