What Members Thought

Ah, where to start? I'm of two minds about this book. As I progressed through it, I thought, "Yes, I get it. This book is good. I'm enjoying the fantasy world of London Below. Three solid stars." But now, I find myself thinking about the book at odd moments, and I think I will have to upgrade my rating to 4 stars. It's sticking with me. The world building in Neverwhere is top notch.

If this was my first Gaiman novel, it would probably be my favorite. The world-building in particular is fantastic. I really miss this kind of urban fantasy, in which the supernatural elements are actually intertwined with the setting instead of the current trend of taking Anytown, USA and dumping vamps and werewolves in. I thought it was really cool how it opened with a map of London's underground instead of a map of the city, country, etc.
