A novella's worth of content in a full-length novel. What was done with the rest of the pages, I hear you ask? Were they blank? I would've preferred them to be.

I really do love this series.

This is an excellent wrap-up to the revenge arc of the series (and I was very excited to hear that it isn't a wrap-up of the series as a whole). All the threads tie together, and every piece slots together exactly as it should.

My one complaint, which is going to sound rather petty, is that the pieces fit together just a little bit too well. By which I mean, nothing in this book surprised me. It played out like... watching one of the classics unfold (Gin mak ...more

Wow! I tried to take my time with this one but once I started I just couldn't put it down. Jennifer Estep trully delivers in this book, Gin is still kick ass but you can see a little of her vulnerability shining through. Owen... what can I say except everyone should have their very own Owen - that guy that stands with you through anything and loves you completely, faults and all. I'm glad that this book saw the end of one story arc and opened up a whole lot of new avenues for the next book. All ...more

Wow there is a lot of repetition of all through out the first third of the book. I'm not happy with this; in fact it infuriates me. This can be forgiven for the soul reason that once we have recapped the plot completely hits the ground running faster than a speeding locomotive. All aboard... Here comes the gravy train...

I'm only about 40 pages in and I'm already having troubles! I really enjoy the story in this series, but I just don't like all of the "very comprehensive" recapping that takes place throughout the books. I understand that this will help alleviate confusion for those who read the books out of order, but, ugh! I really hope that I can muddle through that part and get to enjoy the story - I want to see how this goes with Mab!:) ...more
