Pre-Orders: What books are you pre-ordering so far in 2011?
Here's what I have for paperbacks:
Now that I have a Kindle though, I'm wondering if it would be better to get the ebook instead. *bites lip*
@_@ Shadowfever @_@I don't usually do preorders but i think i might start...they seem to be a lot cheaper and i think Amazon is still offering Prime free for a year...
Books I will 100% be buying:
Books I'll probably get from the library or through book trades:
that's all i can think of at the moment...there might be more!
Regina, you read my mind! Or looked in my in-box! I just got a notification yesterday that my pre-ordered copy of
is on it's way! Yay!Some others I've pre-ordered:
I pre-ordered
b/c it's almost 50% off by doing it that way. Have high hopes for this one, we'll see.Haven't yet, but may pre-order:
And
is frustrating me b/c Amazon is only selling the hardcover for $15.09 and BD has HC for $19.46 -both on 31 May- PB $8.32 but not until 11 Aug. I want this one (and bad), but would prefer PB, but want it in May, not Aug. LOL! Augh :\
You're going to be sorry you asked. I have a serious overload of series to pre-order. :)Here are the books that I have already pre-ordered or will be pre-ordering in paperback or for the Kindle:
Crave The Moon
The Darkest Surrender
Redemption
I can't wait!
Steph, I just noticed BD price for Kiss of Snow has gone down. You might want to check it out. I had to succumb to the hardback, couldn't wait for the pb.
Thanks, I'll look again. I don't think I'll be able to wait for PB either. *sigh*Oh, you reminded me to take a look for Kiss at Your Own Risk. I enjoyed Stephanie's other series and want to check that one out too. Wonder if I could entice the AU postman to detour all your book orders to Japan? LOL! :D
Steph wrote: "Good ones! How do like Sentinel Wars? I keep thinking I'll start it soon, but still haven't yet."I wasn't sure about the first one, but I'm glad I kept reading! I love the series! They're consistently 4 to 4 1/2 stars to me.

That's great to hear, Lisa. I'll definitely have to add them to my "don't forget to start in 2011" list. Thanks!
Since I've moved, I've cut back a little on the number of books I pre-order. I still do it though, since it's one way to plan/budget for the books I MUST have. Once I rack up enough Amazon award points for a GC, I will either (a) cancel and re-order the pre-order using the GC (I just did this for the first time, I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before) or (b) Look through the WL for other books that I was interested in. Amazon's pretty good with release day delivery. And thank goodness for Amazon Prime, especially now with Agency pricing restrictions for new releases.So....books:
oops...left two of them off the list:
I rarely pre-order since my book budget is almost nonexistent. Not to mention, I'm not one of those people who just has to read a book the day it comes out. Because of my nonexistent budget, I've learned how to be patient. But I have around $70 on my Amazon gift cards from Xmas so I'm planning on buying these at some point for 2011:
I don't pre-order normally, but I did pre-order Shadowfever (and started it when I woke up this morning!) and Twice Dead by Catherine Coulter (releases Feb. 1st), because both were such good prices on the Nook (and I was dying to find out what happens to Mac!).
I have pre-ordered, as most of you have done, River MarkedI still have to read #3-#5 (which I have already order and hopefully will be arriving sometime this week) but, anyway, I know I'll love all of them just as I loved the first 2

I plan to read #1 this month.
I have only preordered up to August; in June or July I will add to the order. What I have so far is
That's it so far. Hopefully, I will be able to afford to get them. I had to cancel my order for C. Feehan's HB of Dark Prince :(
I'm not pre-ordering anything. I have 900+ books here to read. My goal this year is to cut down on acquiring books and to read some of the ones I have. Every bookshelf I own is stacked 2 deep and overflowing. I need to trim some down. I will still buy some new books but only as I make progress in trimming the TBR and get coupons from Borders.
Such strength, Mary. Good luck! Wish I could do that too ... well, for fleeting moments when I can't find a spot for the ones I have. LOL!
I don't pre-order. Working for a bookseller, I get 30% off in-stock books. So I mostly buy books at my store or one of our other locations the day it comes out.
Well, the pay is minimum wage (this is not my day job). I mostly work there cause I love books. And the discount.
If I liked the store, I would guess that (the discount) would be a good enough reason to work there too. 30% off all books .... tiny piece of heaven. :)
Steph wrote: "Ooooo, I want Hidden Embers! LOL!"Yeah, I knew you'd say that! LOL.
came in the mail yesterday.
Ya know me so well. Although I'm not known to be quiet when I come across a book or series I really like. :) Can't wait to hear what you think of it.
That is a nice cover. ;) I just pre-ordered Magic Slays, I am so excited for these books which are coming out in the next few months!
I still can't decide if I should wait for the lirary version of Lover Unleashed or not. I hate that it is so pricey for the ebook and with PNR you never know if the couple is going to crash and burn for you.
Thanks for posting mariya. Very cool cove with merit in her leathers. And I see the date is November 2011.

More paperbacks:
The only hardback because I cannot wait until 2012!Kindle edition of
is coming out a month before the paperback but at double the price so I'm gonna wait that one out I think. And they're offering Kindle editions on many firsts in a series but not the second. Grrr! I've just clicked the "I’d like to read this book on Kindle" button a dozen times!
Are they books not released yet? If so, don't worry there will be a kindle edition. I used to click dozens of times to and post in kindle forums asking people to click but I see now that all new releases I read are being offered in kindle just the pre order is available a little later than the paper book. I hate ebook pricing right now!
Are they books not released yet?Yes. Thanks, Regina! I'll take a look closer to release. Pain in the butt though. I thought I was being forced to get hardcopies.
VAT (sales tax) has just gone up to 20% so all ebooks are more expensive now *sniffsniff*
Steph wrote: "I'm excited b/c we get two LoTU books in 2011! :D"Damn, I forgot The Darkest Surrender. Guess I need to add that to my list....

I am conflicted about whether I will pre-order these or do the library:
Ones I will be buying once they are available for pre-order:
