Love this book so much!!! So much awesomeness!!! I love all of these characters, the plot, the romance-all of it!! It was a hell of a book!
****Proper review to come****
OKAY, upon purchasing this book, I never really planned on reading it. I thought it was another Twilight, which sure I am a Twilight fan but not of the books. Just the movies. However, after learning I am so far behind on this series (which apparently is a crime, don't ever tell anyone you've never read it!! Whew!!!). Many of my ...more

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy was an enjoyable read and a promising start to her series. The book follows Rose who is in training to be a guardian for her best friend, Lissa. I loved how the friendship between these two young women is the focal point of the book as each needs to learn about themselves and their future role once they come of age. The reader also gets to discover the secret reason that these two ran away from the academy through the use of flashbacks once they are forced to retu

I thought for a first book in a series this one was really well written. The beginning was a little slow but the rest of the book was great! Now I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
