Whenever I said that I was reading Vampire Academy I encountered mixed reactions. Abhorrence and excitement. The first group of people were shocked that I would stoop low enough to read one of those "vampire books." The other group had either read the series or had heard good things about it and were eager for my take on the novels. Here's what it is.

These books are jammed with typical vampire stuff. Blood-drinking, not going into the sun, etc. But they're entertaining as hell. I'm not going to ...more

I absolutely loved this book. Rose is a kick butt heroine and Dimitri is a hot hunk of vampire. I think this has the potential to be one of my all time favourite series. This book certainly sets up for some very interesting things to happen in upcoming books. My first 5 star book of 2010!!!

My first vampire book (yes - I have managed to avoid Twilight - both the books and the films!!) Wasn't too sure at first but soon got sucked (!) in and will be reading the others in the series at some point. ...more
