What a beautiful book. Beautiful and heart wrenching. I can't remember a book that made me cry as hard as this book did. I had to stop reading just to collect myself. It's going to take some time for me to get over it. ...more

This story was so well written! I loved the quirkiness of the characters and the beauty that they portrayed through their lives and words. I felt like I could have met both main characters in real life and known them instantly. It is very touching and also humorous at the same time (so many quick witted one-liners!). It is a tragic love story as you may surmise from the fact that it is written from point of view of a teenager cancer patient, but at the same time a happy story because along the w ...more

I really really loved this book! It was so well written, especially since the author is a man writing in a teenage girl's voice. He did amazing. The characters are all great, and it is just a beautiful love story! I have been wanting to read this after seeing all the great reviews, and it was awesome...I read it in a day. Just be warned that this is a teenage cancer patient love story, so you will cry at some point. ...more

I wanted to throw this book across the room several times, just to get away from the precociousness of it all. John Green, you're good but and it seems like you think you're so good, which makes it all the more irritating. It was just too....too twee, too precocious, too much. Tone it down. I would totally enjoy a toned down version of Hazel and Augustus. Good but not great, not near perfect. ...more

This book was incredibly witty and insightful. It's well-paced, it has likeable characters (although the majority of them seem to have the same sense of humor -- John Green's sense of humor, probably), and it made me laugh out loud a couple of times.

Then why only three stars? Well, there's quite a bit of language and sexual references, and that it made me pretty uncomfortable -- I spent most of the book wondering if I'd read the worst of it yet or if it was going to cross that "line." (Maybe it

Kids with cancer...
A depressing book to read with the only positive thought being that with so many teens loving this book they know how blessed they are if they are healthy and have only normal teenage angst to worry about.

Great book, thoughtful, funny, great characters. Sometimes a little too self-aware, but mostly just touching and worth reading. Thumbs up.

This is one of the saddest YA books I've ever read, and I've read a lot of sad YA books!!

Even though it is very sad and it did make me cry, I would recommend it to anyone who loves young adult. John Green is an excellent writer! My second book by him and now I'm going to have to read the rest!!
