This book was a fun little read; I read it over the course of a couple of evenings. Although her work is not great literature, Evanovich is a great writer. She nails this genre and keeps the plot/characters just complicated enough to keep the reader guessing. The silly Jersey thing is charming and believable; it would have annoyed me otherwise. I've read some other reviewers complain about the "dated" feeling of some of Evanovich's descriptions of Stephanie's hair/outfits/etc. It really didn't b ...more

I love this series! Stephanie is sort of like the Go Go Gadget of crime solving, in that she doesn't exactly know what she's doing and she just get's lucky a lot! She almost always stumbles into the "who done it." These are all good, quick, light reads. I find myself laughing out loud and shaking my head at the antics in these fun stories. ...more

I was turned on to these books by my mother-in-law, who really enjoys them. This is the first I’ve read, and I’m happy to add them to my “detective” story collection. Quite entertaining. Stephanie is a fun character.
