Изумително е как една книга успява да въздейства все така силно при всяко следващо прочитане, как чувството на страх, напрежението, безсилието и неизбежността, които се предават от героите на читателя, не само не спадат, но и придобиват все по-причудливи форми във фантазията ни.

Have you ever read a book that you've liked, but you did not enjoy? I know that sounds strange, but this is that book for me. I feel like it was a good story that was written by a not so great author. Give the same story to someone else, and it could be a 5-star story. There were definitely moments that gripped me, but for the most part... I felt disconnected because of the poor writing and lack of real character development. I really loved this one. I am normally the type to only listen to audiobooks in my car but I found myself carrying my phone from room to room while doing household things and I didn't want the story to end. It was such an interesting concept and I've never read anything like it. The characters in the house were described so well that at times I felt like I was actually in the house with them. I thought this was probably one of the most original and frightening horror novels I've read in years until the end. I don't know what to say about it other than that I'm having trouble balancing my enthusiasm for most of the book with my disappointment at the ending. It honestly felt like the author just got bored of writing or something and ended it as quickly as he could manage.

Still, the premise is NEAT and very scary and different and thinking about it was definitely a thrilling experience ...more
