Night Boat to Tangier by
Kevin Barry. Deliciously dark. Could be a study in dark imagery
Rosemary wrote: "So I was left wondering how Konrad felt at the end of the night. Relieved that he barely had to speak? Disappointed that his revelations were unnecessary? Was it even Henrik he had come to see?..."Wonderful points and questions. Definitely some things to think about.
The Sun Also Rises by
Ernest Hemingway. As I was reading I was very ho hum about this book, but after I was finished and I thought about it as a whole I rather liked it.
Journey to the Center of the Earth by
Journey to the Center of the Earth. I seem to be making 2022 the year of the adventure. This one was entertaining, and highly unbelievable. But in an entertaining way.

The Daughter by
Pavlos Matesis.
Strangely organized and written with a conversational tone that is very odd too. It was ok.

Hello Lnaposa and hello James. Nice to meet you both. Hopefully you will find some good recommendations here in our little group. Hopefully they will be "new to you" because the nature of our list doesn't really help to get out new releases... We hope for an updated list every 2-8 years... :p

Welcome Eratta. We have several threads for discussing what we are reading. I hope to see your input there. Please feel free to join in.

Volume Two discussion now open.
