@Lynne- I have a question. I belong to a book club that is going to be picking our books for the year this week. I was planning to suggest The Book of Lost Friends and noticed you had read it. Then I noticed you read Miss Benson's Beetle which has been on my TBR list. Would your recommend both these books as good for discussions?

@Elena- That's great! One of my red books would work for a 4 or a 6 red, both of which we need.

FYI- The March cards have been posted. I found them on the original cards google sheet. I'm glad I held back some red books because we'll need some in March.

With just a week left to this month, are you going to give us an update on what books we need to fill remaining cards? I am reading books now but could adjust what I am reading to fill holes. I can probably read another 3 or 4 books. I also wondered if everyone in our team is still playing? I've heard from other groups that sometimes people drop out and don't tell anyone. Just wondered with some of the players that haven't posted any books.

I am reading The Joy Luck Club and should have it done by the first of the week so we can cross it off our mini challenge. I am finding that any book I read can relate to our book if you think about it. Right now I am also reading The Echo Wife which is about a woman and her clone involved in a crime and The Joy Luck Club has twins as characters so that relates to the twin aspect in The Echo Wife.

Do we have our March cards yet? If not, when will we get them. I'm holding back some books.

I don't see where we ever needed a Green 7. What we still need is a Green 9. Am I missing something?

So, I will not reread The Joy Luck Club but I did order it from my library so if Elena can not get to it, I will. Just let me know by the 21st if I need to read it.

Yay, we have 3 books on our mini challenge! But I believe we put the books we read for the mini challenge on the main sheet and the mini challenge sheet. This is what the instructions say:"Books used for this mini challenge do not need to be separate books for what you are claiming for your UNO hands. " So Navi, you can put your books on our main sheet too.

Darn- this challenge doesn't start until tomorrow so disregard my last statement. And darn- I hurried to finish that book and could have finished it tomorrow to count for the challenge.

So I just finished Mercy Falls by William Kent Krueger which has a red cover so that would connect with our mini challenge. Do I need to put it somewhere to show it"s part of the mini challenge?

Apoorva is reading books on chess so those would work as games and there is a character who was a chess prodigy. I have an Amy Stewart book to read so Amy's would match. I googled characters in the book and there are lots of titles to stories and character names we could connect to.

I doesn't have to be in a series just a connection with something about the book. For instance, I am reading How Much of These Hills is Gold and we can use that because the characters are Chinese. On my list of books to read is The Mothers which connects because The Joy Luck Club is about relationships between mothers and daughters. We could read books with red in their covers since this cover is red. I wonder if I read a book by an author of the same name or characters with the same name if they count? If we read the genre- fiction and historical fiction, does that count?
