88432 Do we know when the mini will start? Or is that top-secret info?

88432 I'm reading this and loving it.
Someone Else's Shoes by Jojo Moyes

It won't change your life, but it's a very entertaining, light read...so far.

I haven't read it, but I've read some commentary on the title. It sounds like her mom was pretty toxic and maybe she didn't fully realize how damaging the relationship was until her mom was gone. But I haven't read it, so I'm basing that on hearsay.

88432 Yes, good luck with the job, Lexi!

88432 I finished my first book. It was a novella, but it really didn't work for too many cards. Maybe it's best that I read it early in the challenge. On to the next!

88432 I'm doing the Motley Reading Challenge with On the Same Page. It shouldn't be too hard. I debated the popsugar challenge, but I never seem to get through that one.

I have tomorrow afternoon off, so I'm not sure what I'll start with. Maybe a short book so I can get one down--it's so satisfying to put one on the spreadsheet!

88432 Question: if a book takes place in Trenton, New Jersey, does it count for 2 or 9 or both?

88432 I am definitely an impulse reader. I love making reading lists, but then I go to the library and it's all, "Ohhh...I didn't know THIS was out." I also find challenges very motivating. I always stress about how many books to say I will read each month, but even when we're busy... Knowing I'm part of a challenge helps motivate me to read more.

Oh I completely forgot about Zero Days! I'll pick that one up for sure. Ruth Ware is one of my instant buy or borrow authors.

88432 Sooo many books I'm looking forward to in 2023. First up will probably be Someone Else's Shoes by Jojo Moyes or A Good Day to Pie by Misha Popp (not a cozy mystery, even with the cutesy cover). I am also looking forward to the next Thursday Murder Club book, but I'm not sure if it even has a title yet.

I want to acknowledge that I saw this message, but I have no idea. It looks 50/50. 😂

I liked the spooky, creepy stuff. But I do remember in maybe 7th(?) grade, a whole bunch of us read this little gem and thought it was the best book ever. Pretty sure we all ordered it from a Scholastic book flyer.

I always forget about those. This will work! I'll plan to read it in Feb.

88432 Thanks for the feedback! It looks like Leslie Ann is planning to read the exact same yellow book for the 8 card. I'll hang on to mine and either read it as reverse or use it in March or for a mini. I'll plan to read for the yellow 2 though.

Also - a heads up that GR notifications are a little wonky again, Or at least they are for me. I'll try to just check this group every day, but I admit I normally rely on the notifications.

Along these same lines...I have this book here to read and would like to read it in Feb or March. Tin eye says it's orange, but it looks pretty yellow to me. I guess I could buy that it's light orange or orangish yellow. I'm fine either way, but curious what others think. Yellow enough?
