88432 Update

So, all of you should have a message in your inboxes from me regarding the Mini Challenge. Do take a look at it when you can and let's work from there.

Let me know if you didn't receive one or reach out for any questions.

I think this should work. I literally don't see another color there, and if someone says its Grey, I'm going to fight them, LOL! :P

88432 Look out for a message from me (probably later today) for where we want to put in our guesses.

The Whisper Man has the names in a different color, so I won't be surprised if that doesn't work.

EDIT: Won't work. The Mods clearly said "Everything on cover must be black and white". Sorry! :=(

88432 Oh absolutely! We can discuss the books here - it's just the songs and the artists and the clues for them that we don't want to discuss here.

Of course, like the cards, I would recommend listing all the tasks a certain book works for, so its easier to move things around in the end just in case (Because something might fit for some other task as you read the book and we don't want to miss that). But, if there are certain tasks that you know you are certainly reading for, feel free to reserve them for yourself.

I will have something up in the meanwhile, so that it would easier for all of us to track this.

My otherwise dormant brain has decided to work on it. :P
We certainly don't want to discuss the clues here in this thread.
Will drop in some information soon.

In the interim, please feel free to drop in any questions regarding the challenge or tasks. We have a few days to figure things out.

I'm so excited! :DDD

Books must be more than 100 pages in length and Children's books, Graphic Novels, Manga, Cook Books, Plays and Poetry books can not be used unless by word count they can be verified as more than 25,000 words using arbookfind.com or more than 3 hours of audio using a reputable website (e.g. audible, overdrive).

MARCH MINI CHALLENGE IS HERE!!
HEAR! HEAR!

MINI CHALLENGE TIME! :D

We are continuing to celebrate the 80s!
But this time with its MUSIC! :D

Head over here for more details:
March Mini Challenge

POINT: The books can start anytime after 1st February,
but should be completed AFTER 14th March.

--------------
Note: This mini challenge is completely optional, so I won't come running after you, if you choose to not participate.
But, from what I have seen the winner of the overall UNO challenge is almost always decided by these extra mini challenge points.

Haha, Elisabeth! That is why I love this challenge so much. It is absolutely fun (especially for a spreadsheet lover like me) to play with how the books fit and work around that.

But, that wouldn't be possible had you guys not be the coolest, diligent team ever, Its such a joy ride to see the team progress. YOU GUYS ROCK!! :D

So, update on this, Paris,
this will be counted as only one book if you read the 230ish page edition. because, well, it is one book even with those two books mushed in. But, its a go-ahead. Just wanted to confirm that. Do make sure you include the right edition in your completion post, so that there is no further confusion. :)

I think it does work, my only contention is that it may not work as two books. But, I'm going to check in with the Mods, to just clarify that. Thanks for asking the question, Paris! This is interesting!

It certainly looks green. My only point of contention is if it is green enough or not. Question shipped over to the Mods.

88432 Danah,
When you get a chance, could you add Cinder and Pretties to your UNO shelf? Thank you! :D

Vicki,
When you have a moment, could you add Invisible Girl and The Girl Who Chased the Moon to your UNO shelf? Also, while you are there, I don't think Jasper Jones was ever accounted for anything, so might as well remove it to erase any confusion (unless you are reading that for March). Thank you! :D

A Caribbean Mystery

Hey Elisabeth, was this the version you read? Since that one says 223 pages. Was just curious if your version was actually a 176 pages and GoodReads has it incorrect.

EDIT: Unless you read this version,
A Caribbean Mystery by Agatha Christie

88432 HAHA! We started with Dear Justyce and ended with The Betrayals. What. A. Month!!

THANK YOU, everyone for being so on-point with all the minor requirements of the challenge. I feel like we are already a well-oiled machine. Credit goes to all of you for being so particular with your completion posts!

We quite possibly might end up second on the leaderboard, which is amazing because then it really just comes down to luck and what card we have in our hands, and we have done everything we could potential can. Love that!

THANK YOU FOR BEING A FABULOUS TEAM

I understand what the concern is here, but I believe except the beginning of the month, beginning of the mini challenge, and the end of the month - all other dates ideally do fall within the required time period, so a day here and there wouldn't really be a major question. But, I appreciate the preciseness and the want to get it all right! :)
