88432 Ugh! I don't think I'm going to get Along Came a Spider in time. How am I on hold for the same book at the same time in 5 different libraries and it is unavailable on Scribd? Is it really THAT good? Arrgh!

If anyone has a backup for the "leg warmers", I guess if you have the bandwidth to read it, go ahead. Makes no sense to keep this till the last day and then hustle. We are sooooooo close!

Yeah. I saw that. I will make the swap once you complete your read so that its easier to track. Thanks for keeping me updated! :)

88432 Update

WE FINISHED ALL OUR HANDS!! YAAAAYYY! :D

The only thing left is the Mini Challenge. And here is what:

15*: read a book with "leg warmers" in the text or on the cover
29*: read a book with 401-450 pages: Elisabeth
B1*: U

These are the only two tasks that don't have any takers yet.
I am going to try and get Along Came a Spider to cover #15 (if not, we have Vicki to back up on that), and maybe one of the other books that we all read in the next couple of days can cover #29.

Plus, we have ongoing books for these:

25*: read a book with 201-250 pages - Vanessa
34a*: read a book that is a stand-alone - Vanessa (Apoorv)
36a*: read a book from the Listopia The Movie was Better than the Book (https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...) - Paris
B7*: L - Paris
B14*: read a book with a character who is a werewolf - Laura

I know Vanessa is amidst with the CoViD wave in India, so the book I'm reading right now will cover #34a.

If someone has a book for #25, that they have completed after the 15th and which is not already been used somewhere, let me know, and we can cover that. Else we might need to cover that task too, just to be safe.

EDIT: Using Vicki's The Mane Event for the L. Paris' book will be the backup and we can try and fit it in some other task.

88432 I am trying to get atleast three books for the leg warmer, either my libraries don't have it or they are on hold. Definitely not buying them! :P

I can do the James Patterson book, I just need to get it. Ugh!

You know what, that's actually great,
It is 419 page book, fits one of open tasks seamlessly! :)

EDIT: After seeing your completion post, I better use it for the clubbing task, seems a little tougher than the page number one.

88432 Alrighty, so I took the liberty to go through all our shelves, not just the UNO ones, but "read" shelves as well (sorry for snooping). And I found a whole bunch of books that were read but either not entered in the spreadsheet or added to the UNO shelves.

The good thing is that this covered a lot of our letters and tasks. So, we are actually doing much much better in completing this whole thing.

Now, that leaves us with these tasks as unclaimed ones.
15*: read a book with "leg warmers" in the text or on the cover
29*: read a book with 401-450 pages
B14*: read a book with a character who is a werewolf
B19*: read a book with a character who goes out dancing or clubbing
B21*: read a book with a character who has to get up early

Now, if any of your read books that have not been captured for something, fit any of these tasks, drop in a word here, so that we don't go searching for something that is already covered.

We are doing great! You guys are just super duper!

EDIT: Also keep an eye out for any L's and U's in your books.

Laura, I found an entire book on vampire's in one of Vicki's book which she didn't post. So, if are not too inclined on the vampire book, we'd be fine.

88432 Let me ask you guys this, is there really a difference between a leg warmer and a knee-high pair of socks? Or do leg warmers always have to made out of wool?

I mean, would this work?

What would I do without you guys and your astuteness?
Thank you for catching that, Laura! Sometimes my tiny brain decides to go its own route and I'm left stranded. LOL!
Removed that book for the letter. Comparatively easier task.

Laura, I think Matilda is beautifully pink. Do you want to put your name for that?

We are doing really well with the regular card tasks. We are done with ALL the colored covers which is brilliant. I was able to use all the books so for to get the pesky I's, V's, and F's out of the way. Now we have the T's and H's to go, which we are going great on.

And the mini task books should cover them automatically for the most part. So, yaaaay! :D

I think we should be fine if the book is first published in the 1980s. Ofcourse if there is a significant difference between the new version than the original, then some might make the case that it is a different content book. But first publications should work.

88432 Update

These are the compulsory tasks that still need takers.

- 2* read a book published in the 80s
- 14* read a book with a bright/neon pink cover (i.e. preferably not a pastel pink)
- 15*: read a book with "leg warmers" in the text or on the cover

These are the optional tasks that need takers (apart from these there are letter tasks but those are easier and will fill them up with books that don't fit anywhere)

- B14*: read a book with a character who is a werewolf
- B15*: read a book with a character who is a vampire
- B17*: read a book with a fabulous dress on the cover
- B18*: read a book with a same-sex relationship
- B19*: read a book with a character who goes out dancing or clubbing
- B21*: read a book with a character who has to get up early

I know a lot of the books that we have read work for some of these tasks, but keep an eye out for these in the books you read and mentioned them in your post, so that we can move stuff around when it gets to it.

You guys are rockstars! Just nail any darn task thrown at you! :D

88432 I changed your book, Laura, because I wanted to get the tougher categories done as early as possible and plus you also have a couple of other books to go as well. So it may help you prioritize.

We ofcourse have an entire optional part of the mini to go (which we should totally complete to get as many points as we can) and your book will certainly be used wherever it fits.

Sorry for the relocation of books, just trying to make life easier for us as we go into the last week. :)
