88432 Anne and Robynne - great selections!! Love the enthusiasm! Isn't it amazing finding books with all these little things - I love challenges like this. :)

Edit: I have added your selections on the tracking spreadsheet, Both of you should be set for now! :)

The Mini Challenge is optional. But, it is always far more fun and exciting to do it. Plus extra points - only way to win this thing. Haha.
So, yes, we will collective as a team do these tasks. The good thing is, all the mini challenge books count for UNO books - so we don't have to read anything extra, Yaay!

Thanks for your feedback on choosing cities.
We also have to connect all our books to the tasks in the A setting, if we chose that, especially tasks 35-40! That would take some teamwork and we will be working together to come up with our own city.

Vicki, I needed a spreadsheet to keep all the names and kids in order. How do you manage? Haha! :P

P.S. Jay sounds like such a goofball. Cute indeed! And hey he thought you were broken but 5 years old, I would take that bargain! Haha! :P

I read this too, yaay! :D
To that point, if any of you find someone else in the team reading the same book you have also read, drop in a word - that accounts for a Reverse card and we wouldn't want to miss it.

Glad you had a super duper vacation. Always fun to hear your grandkid stories - but do take the necessary precaution for CoViD. Hope it fizzes off soon and you get to be out and about soon.

Either way works. I will be checking the UNO shelves anyway, but if it is serves as reminder for you to add it to the UNO shelf and then check it off, go for it.

Also, if we are adding our books to the SS, do you also want them posted in this thread?

Fine if you don't. As long as it has all the information at atleast one location, I should be good to take it from there.

88432 The fun thing about this challenge is that we don't necessary have to plan too much, because almost all books tend to work for this challenge, and the chances of finding atleast one of these letters across titles, author names, characters, setting is higher than not.

So, the biggest help, as I have mentioned earlier and as all of us are doing diligently so far, is to keep adding any relevant details to our spreadsheet. I can work on moving around books to fit the comparatively difficult letters after that (also something that I really love doing. hehe!)

88432 Val wrote: "Hey guys - are we okay on all of our prompts for this month? are there any certain letters/colors that we still need to work on?"

We are doing fine so far. F, I, V are the tougher to find letters generally, so if your read book has anything that fulfills that, definitely mention that.

Color-wise, luckily we are only looking at two colors this month - but that means more green books!

88432 Just a quick reminder that if you're not making a completion post here, please ensure that there is a completion date on the tracking spreadsheet (Column D) and add the book to your respective shelf, so that it gets counted.

People make sure all the questions are directed to Gwen - you'd get the right answers! Thanks, Gwen! :D

88432 Stay safe everyone who is in the throws of the storm.
We had one of the biggest in the history snowstorm this past weekend here in Boston (around 24-26 inches of snow), so I totally hear you.

Hopefully the power stays on, the internet stays on and you are indoors and safe.

WE ARE JUST HOURS AWAY FROM THE START OF THE CHALLENGE!!

Thank you all of being so excited.
This excitement is definitely communicable and I can wait for the clock to turn over.

Do take a quick peak at the initial posts incase you need a refresher as to what you would need to do before and after you finish a book.

Also, quick request, if something comes up and you have to attend to that in real life, please if possible drop in a line here or send me a message, so that you are accounted for.

But more importantly, ENJOY every bit of this fun challenge. I'm sure we will end up with a lot of happy moments and some new cool new books added to our TBRs.

LET'S DO THIS!! :D

Anne, that is fine.
Just a quick request for you to make a new post every time you finish a book. That way the chance of me missing the book is slim and every read book gets accounted for.

Also, please detail out everything that would fit a UNO alphabet if your book has it. The alphabets to be on the lookout for are E, F, H, I, K, N, O, P, S, T, V, Z.

Hey Anne, no need to apologize at all. We are all learning. :)
Robynne wonderfully explained how to do it, and honestly, if you are having any trouble and prefer to just mention everything in a message here, that would be fine. I can transfer over the information onto the spreadsheet.

The only reason I prefer everyone doing it there is that it is live and you can update things as you read instead of having to type in multiple messages here where some might get lost in the mix.

But, feel free to chose whichever option makes it easier for you.
I will be going through each book all of us posts before officially logging it in, so don't worry if something doesn't work out in the first go.

And the spreadsheet would not break so go ahead and play with it. If something does indeed goes wrong, it is not too complicated a formatting fix, so all good there.

88432 Val wrote: "Can anyone help me figure out how I can get our group's conversation on notification rather than all of The Perks of Being a Book Addict??"

Val, go to the group home page. Under the title and description, there would be some called "Edit Membership". If you click on it and scroll all the way to the bottom and click on "edit group discussion updates" - you would be able to sort out your notifications. You can switch "all group discussions" to none for no notifications, and then switch on only the notifications for this message board, if you want.

Hope that helps. Drop in a word if you having any trouble with it.
