88432 One book that I would recommend for that eclipse clue is Artemis.

88432 Also, I am going to submit our final guesses for the songs today (don't want to keep that till the end), so if anyone has anything else that popped into their mind regarding that, do let me know. :)

88432 Paris, the one you added for Clue 23, was exactly the book I was planning on picking up if no one else was going to and after I finished the ones I have already claimed.

I think that is a great choice!

88432 These are the tasks that need some takers:

4. Read a book where the MC is involved in a criminal organisation

13. Read a book where a fictional character ends up in real life or where a real life character gets transported into a book

18. Read a book with diamond jewellery on the cover

23. Read a book where a character has permed hair/gets their hair permed (extra 5 points for if you find "hair like Meg Ryan's" in the text ;)

29. Read a book where the MC falls in love with their boss(es)

38. Read a book with the word "eclipse" in the title / an eclipse depicted on the cover

EDIT: Just added some books for reference in the spreadsheet, incase someone is finding it a bit difficult to find books for these tasks and would want to pick any of those.

88432 Kathryn, when you get a chance, would you mind adding The Night Circus to your UNO shelf?

Vicki, does Rooftops of Tehran fit for any task from the March Mini, that you know of?

88432 Quick request to everybody,

Just cleaned out our guesses for the songs/singers based on max votes, and I believe we are almost there except two songs.

So, do take a look when you can and let's try and get a consensus on that, so that we can submit those clues and get them points. :)

88432 Paris wrote: "I'm not quite sure what 'MPG' means, but would Lady Chatterly's Lover work for 20. Read a book with MPG Erotica ??.."

It absolutely does. MPG is Main Page Genres, so when you open a page for a particular book, the list of genres on the right hand side are genres on the main page of the book.

88432 These are the tasks that still don't have any takers. So, if you are looking for what to read next, this might be a good place to start.

Feel free to add your names to these. Also, let's make sure everyone who wants to participate gets a chance to reserve some spots for themselves.
4. Read a book where the MC is involved in a criminal organisation
8. Read a book with a black leather jacket on the cover
12. Read a book where a male character is wearing his hair long/with a long-haired man on the cover
13. Read a book where a fictional character ends up in real life or where a real life character gets transported into a book
17. Read a book with a rags-to-riches plot
18. Read a book with diamond jewellery on the cover
20. Read a book with MPG Erotica
22. Read a book where the MC is a dancer
23. Read a book where a character has permed hair/gets their hair permed (extra 5 points for if you find "hair like Meg Ryan's" in the text ;)
29. Read a book where the MC falls in love with their boss(es)
30. Read a book with the word "Dance" in the title/ top shelf "Dance"
38. Read a book with the word "eclipse" in the title// an eclipse depicted on the cover
39. Read a book set in Wales / with a character from Wales
43. Read a book where the MC is an only child/a book that's #1 in a series

Also, take a look at the songs/singers, so that we can finalize the list. We have only one chance to change anything once we send our final answers, so let's try and get it bang on in the first go.

88432 Also, if anyone is finding it difficult to get books for specific tasks, we still have a few colored books to be completed, so we can search for those as well to account for that. Yellow seems to be the pesky kid this month!

88432 Okay, I so added your name, Paris, to the "dance" book and swapped back Vanessa's book to "air".

Also, swapped Elisabeth's book to the one set in California, to get the 500+ clue covered.

I don't think the ring on "Heartburn" is diamond-y enough to work for that task, unfortunately. But we will find something.

Great job, everyone, so far! :D

If it's okay with you Vanessa, I would like to move this to the "dance" in the title mini challenge, because that seems a little rarer to find as opposed to "air" in the title.

All your books are there, Vicki. Don't worry.
I'll send you the link to the spreadsheet. I disabled the one on the first page till the end of the mini challenge.

88432 This is what the Mods say about the Meg Ryan task.
------------------
Task 23 (a character with permed hair/a character getting their hair permed) gets you 10 points.

The Meg Ryan hair reference will be accepted as an "extra" in any of the books you use for the mini challenge, whether it's for the permed hair or some other task, for that you get 5 bonus points "only".
-------------------------

So, permed hair is the primary task. Meg Ryan reference in any other book can get us the added 5 points.

We are reading 45 books! One per task.
The tasks are just clubbed into groups for 3 to lead us to a clue about the singer/song which, if guessed correctly, are bonus points.

Oooooo! This is interesting!
Finding the Meg Ryan hair reference is so rare, its amazing that you found it. But the main cue is about permed hair, so that I believe is primary requirement.

But save this book, maybe we can use it.
So stoked that you found the Meg Ryan reference.

EDIT: So, I found two books too which reference MR, but nothing about the word perm. One of the book describes it though without using the actual word. Hmm!

The 500+ clue might be a better yet, if you're already reading one that is that long. The one set in CA is relatively easier to find and could squeeze in a shorter book for that.

How about this one for the leather jacket?
Storm Front (The Dresden Files, #1) by Jim Butcher"

"Beach Read" works for white hat, "Hamnet" doesn't.
I'm on the fence about "Storm Front" for the leather jacket, because I can't make it out as leather from the jacket cover. So, I will err towards no.

88432 I don't see why we can't, Elisabeth! This would be a fun puzzle for them given their love for music.
