I've just moved some read books over to the official spreadsheet.

Klare - I moved Thorn In My Side to an 8 in the same hand as we have a lot more of those to cover and they are a bit more difficult.

There should be news of a mini in the next couple of days so keep an eye out. We will post it here when it has been announced and one of us gets online.

I just had a quick look and I have a green that looks like it would cover either an 1 or an 8. I just put in a hold for it and it says "available soon" so it should be ready by the time I want to read it. I'll keep looking for a green that will fit 7 (V) as that is a lot harder to find.

I finished The Lost World earlier and I am now working on Heart of Darkness which isn't very long so I am hoping to get that one done today too.

Once I have finished my two remaining books on the spreadsheet I will look for a book or two to help us with those remaining colour covers we have.

Week 1 Update

Just a little update for you after the first week of Uno.

We are a little behind target, but a few of us have said we were unable to read as much as we wanted. There's still plenty of time so no reason to be worried.

We still have unclaimed colour books. 1 Green, 7 Green and 8 Green as well as 3 Wild Draw 4 cards. We also have nine 8's left unclaimed so do keep an eye out for those E's!

I think we are off to a pretty good start. From what I remember, things usually ramp up a bit once the mini begins and we are still getting into the flow of things. Keep up the good work team!

I had no idea what I wanted or would look good in so at least I know more what I like and don't like now. I looked online for a bit more inspiration and I'm booked in to go back to the dress shop in just under two weeks. I don't generally like pressure and I'm not used to all the attention on me so I did get overwhelmed at the end when I was trying on the two I thought I liked the most, but then wasn't able to say why I didn't think they were the ones.

Anyway, enough about me. I hope everyone had a good week and had a nice weekend planned!

It's okay Brittany! There's still plenty of time and we all know real life can get in the way sometimes. I hope moving wasn't too stressful.

I also haven't read as much as I wanted as well. I've had a busier than normal week. I went wedding dress shopping for the first time which was exciting but also confusing. I haven't chosen one yet, but I know more about what I am looking for.
I should be able to finish The Lost World tomorrow and I should have more time next week for reading.

Not to worry, Jane. I'm sure you won't be the only one who needs reminding. I'll probably forget to put at least one book on my own shelf during this challenge!

Jane - can you put Bone Crossed and Iron Kissed on your Uno shelf please?

I just finished my first book of the challenge An Elderly Lady Is Up to No Good

I will start mine tonight. I've been helping my mum with some organising today, but I will have some time to read this evening.

We still have our three green cards open

7 Green
8 Greeen

and 3 Wild Draw 4 cards.
Our one red card for this round has been claimed for one, but the other coloured cards are still up for grabs to be duplicated.


I almost certainly have books on my TBR that can help cover some coloured cards, but I will read what I have claimed first and then if there are some colour cards left, I will help fill them in.

The challenge begins in about 17 and a half hours from now!

Not a problem Kayt. I think quite a few of our team have said they are mood readers so the spreadsheet is still quite empty at the moment. I expect that will change once the challenge begins though!

That sounds good Keri. If you haven't done so already, I'll add change the colour and add it in brackets in the little table at the side so that it's easy to see what's been used and what is can still be used. I'll be on my laptop shortly.

I also cannot wait to start. I have been putting off books. If anything, I'm only allowing myself to read books that are too short to be allowed to count.

Does everyone know what their first read will be? Or are you waiting until the offical start to see what mood you're in?

I'll be starting with An Elderly Lady Is Up to No Good which is quite short so I'll get it done quickly. Followed by The Lost World.

I've had a tinker with the tracking sheet. Whenever someone add a book to a colour card or Wild Draw 4, it should automatically fill in on the table to the right of the hands with their name. It should also automatically change to yes whenever a finished date is put in.

I also added a claimed column to the table so we can see how many of each card has been claimed. It won't come off the "left" column until it is actually completed through.

Finally, on Hand 14 we have a Draw 2. There is a 5 Yellow and a regular 5 in that hand so it makes sense that the 5 Yellow is used with the Draw 2 to cover the 5 as well. I've put it in the reasoning box for the Draw 2.

Kayt, you can put books you are planning to read straight on the spreadsheet. You don't have to post here, but if it is for a specific colour card it can help us if you post on here so we can keep track. Again, its not essential though. I know I will be checking the spreadsheet often and I'm sure Gem will too.

Books cannot be started until after the challenge has begun on the 1st February. So any started before and finished after the offical beginning of the game cannot be used.

Oh yes! I like the improved tracking sheet! It combines both.

Of course, if anyone prefers to just do a completion post here that is okay too, just let us know so we know to look out for them.

I promise I will shut up after this post.

Looking through my books I have what works for 8 Yellow if no one else has one. I'm happy to save it if anyone has one they want to read more urgently.
