I've still got a couple of Yellow books saved that I can read. We seem to have had a lot of Yellows this year. But it's help me actually read some that I've stockpiled previous years.

I wanted to keep looking for more books to add for April, but realised I should work on the books I have to finish this month 😅 I will finish I Am Pilgrim today and I have started my other two so I will get those done in time.

I've put A Storm of Swords: Blood and Gold down as an overload as it has a purple cover. If anyone else has a purple cover book they want to read, let me know and I can move mine to a reverse as Gem has read it.

So for April we have a lot of colour cards and 6 overload cards. We have 9 reverses which isn't as bad as what we had in March, but still quite a lot. And we only have one Draw 2 which is on a hand that has two 3's so that will be easy to cover and because we don't get any points for the Draw 2 itself, it is good for our points to only have one.

I've added the formulas to the tracker of the colour cards again as well as the overload cards so we don't have to worry about doing that manually. If you do have a book for an overload, it would be helpful if you add which colour you are covering to the little table so that it is easy to see which colour is covered as we are only allowed one of each. Don't worry if you forget. I'll try to remember to check and add it when I look over the spreadsheet.

Keri - Can you add Rebel witch to your shelf please?

I've done the switch around. Klare's book Three Bedrooms, One Corse is now in the spot of Skip Blue and Jane's extra book To Have and To Howl is now in the place of the 3 in hand 2.

I've got some time now so I'll take a look.

Also, April hands have been drawn. I'm still working on making sure all the formulas work but they are on the planning sheet. For April we will have Overload cards instead of WD4. Below is some informaiton about them:

We all know and love/hate the Wild Draw 4 cards. They're fun in the game if you are not the one having to draw the cards. Here, we all love the points they give but aren't quite so fond of all the additional cover colours we need to read.

◈ For April, all that changes.

Wild Draw 4 cards are no longer in play. You get OVERLOAD cards instead!

◈ What are Overload cards?

Overload cards are also cover colour cards, BUT they require different colours.
The colours you can use for Overload cards are the following:

- purple
- pink
- orange
- brown
- grey
- white
- black

You can only use each cover colour once . They are worth 30 points and don't have to fit any letters, only colours.

Jane - I've added the links from your shelf so they are all done. Good job finding some 7's. I had a look at your extra book and I couldn't find somewhere to swap around to make it fit without doing a lot of swapping, but I'm way too tired for that right now.

Keri - Thank you for posting here. I wouldn't have noticed otherwise.

I am impressed, team! Since my update we now have all cards covered except one Reverse! I'm sure when I posted the update we had about 20 cards left to cover. I know Jane added quite a few, but not that many. And thanks to Gem picking up that spaceship book, all tasks for the mini are covered and there are only a handful left to be completed.

I expect we will get our hands for April in a couple of days, so there will be new colour cards to cover and hopefully not as many reverse cards. But they are good for points so maybe we do want them.

Hopefully work won't be too stressful for you and I hope they are treating you well.

Ah yes, buying more than I sell is also a big risk but if other sellers are buying from me as well then it's doesn't really count if I buy from them, right? 😜

Ooh, nice find! I wasn't really looking forward to searching through my library apps or audible for a spaceship. I have too many books on my TBR calling me right now as well.

I hope you are getting plenty of rest, Gem. Will you be going on maternity leave soon?

I've got a stall at a craft event on Sunday. It will be my biggest one with up to 150 stalls supposedly going so that is both exciting and nerveracking. I've been anxious about if I have enough things made and if people will actually buy them. As long as I make back the cost of the stall, I will be happy. Any extra will be a bonus. Crafting is a hobby for me so I'm not in it for a profit, just enough to buy more supplies (because I definitely don't have enough :P ).

I listened to the whole of my blue book today while sewing so I'm hoping to do the same with my yellow book tomorrow while I get the last bits sorted.

March Week 3 Update

All but four colour cards have been completed. Myself and Keri have one left to finish and Gem has two. I will be getting mine done in the next few days.

We have 4 hands complete now and several more just a book or two away from being complete. It looks like we still need to find a few more 7 and 8's so keep an eye out for those V's and E's. We need two more reverses as well.

For the mini, we have all tasks cover apart from one. 30. Read a book with a spaceship on the cover. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of space books but I could find one to work once I have got through my other books if needed.

We seem to be on track for the month so there's no concern at the moment that we will not finish everything this month. As we draw closer to the end of the month, please do let us know if you will not finish a book as soon as possible, especially if it is covers a task for the mini so that we have time to find and read a replacement.

I've had a slower than normal start to the month too. I was able to pick up the pace a bit over the weekend though so hopefully that will keep up. My aim is to finish the books I have on the spreadsheet this week and then after that I will see if we have anything left on the mini that needs covering

I've swapped out my 2 Yellow book with a different one. I really was not enjoying it and did not even want to force myself to read it for points. Luckily I had another yellow book saved that I could use instead.

March Week 2 Update

We are almost halfway through the month now. We have all our colour cards covered. We seem to be a little under where we should be for the month in terms of completed books. I know a couple of us were holding off finishing some books until the mini began so we might see a jump in the number of completed books over the next day or two.

With regards to the mini, we have a lot of the tasks claimed which is great! It looks like we have 10 more tasks to find books for, but we still have plenty of time.

The general rule is that it needs to be at least 50% green so 2/3 would be enough

On a side note, I am impressed with how much of the mini we have filled up already! Great job everyone!
