I think that could be suggested but not required. I love audiobooks but I know they're not for everybody.

8565 Ready Player One by Ernest Cline is so good! I recently re-read it and enjoy it a lot!

Thanks, Susan!
8565 Great shelf, Gemma.

If I can get out of this awful slump, I may try:
The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay The Once and Future King (The Once and Future King #1-4) by T. H. White Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern These Broken Stars (Starbound, #1) by Amie Kaufman
8565 Gemma wrote: "Going through this shelf, I'm surprised how many books I have that are included - considering that I'm not a massive history buff. "

This shelf is not about history per se but mostly fiction where it assumes history went through a different path. Sort of like 'what if the Vikings had continued coming to the new world instead of giving up?' Or stories that assume that magic was discovered at some point in the past, thus changing history as we know it. You'll also find lots of dystopia there too.

LOL, Matt!!

I really liked those two books as well, Sarah. I haven't read fiction in a long time...have been busy with other stuf but I should get back to it one of these days.

8565 Here's a quote from Flat-Out Love (Flat-Out Love, #1) by Jessica Park by Jessica Park. Lots of awesome quotes in this book.

“Mom, I have to go. I think this Matt character is here."
"Are you sure it's him?"
Julie peered into the car as the window lowered. "I see a maniacal-looking guy with brightly-colored candy in one hand, and he's waving a sickle in the other. Oh! He's beckoning me to the car. This must be my ride.”

8565 LOL, I never know the definition of a Beach Read either.

I read Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park and gave it 4 stars. I really enjoyed it, the humor and the characters. Matt is just like my husband so I was smitten since Julie first met him and - that t-shirt with "Nietzsche Is My Homeboy" said it all for me. I figured out everything that was going on so I could totally enjoy myself but I can understand those low ratings this book has. I would have been mad with the way it ended if I hadn't known what was going on.
8565 I'll be reading Flat-Out Love (Flat-Out Love, #1) by Jessica Park for this shelf. Already started it!

HAHAHAHAHA!!

I haven't picked yet. Lately I've been in a romance mood...
8565 I read short stories now and then but here are a few on my TBR (not sure they are short stories, per se but they are on the shelf):
Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell Wool Omnibus (Silo, #1) by Hugh Howey The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes, #3) by Arthur Conan Doyle

The only book of real short stories I have on my TBR is not on the list: Cuentos más que completos (not surprisingly, since it's in Spanish) but it's by one of best short stories writer in Latin America. Maybe I'll read it in honor on the shelf, even it won't count. :)

8565 Insteresting choice! But don't you have to pick a shelf instead of a list? Shelves tend to have a lot more books.

8565 Looking forward to your pick, Nadine!
8565 I made me smile too! I don't know why but I usually go for funny quotes when I post here.
8565 Quote from Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1) by Leigh Bardugo , not sure which page (I listened to the book):

"You should be used to being gawked at by now."
"And yet I'm not."
"Well, if it gets too bad, give me a signal, and I'll get up on the banquet table, toss my skirt over my head, and do a little dance. That way no one will be looking at you.”
