8565 I didn't get to any of the books in this shelf I planned to read so I picked up The Professional (The Game Maker, #1) by Kresley Cole , an erotica book set in Russia. Oy vey! This sucked completely - I gave it 2 stars. The plot was crazy and the "hero" was so freaking unappealing. It gave me the inspiration to create a WTF shelf.

8565 Wow, I just realized that I didn't read ONE classic in 2014. I make a point of reading a couple every year but I think I missed them last year because of the big reading slump of 2014.

I may have to read at least one of the classics I see in the world lit shelf.

8565 And of course, Harry Potter is in there but it makes sense to me. Those books were read by millions of people all over the world.

I'm considering the following...most likely I'll read one of the first two because they fit another challenge I'm in.

La sombra del viento (El cementerio de los libros olvidados, #1) by Carlos Ruiz Zafón In the Name of Salome by Julia Alvarez Blindness (Blindness, #1) by José Saramago The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie Jar City (Inspector Erlendur #3) by Arnaldur Indriðason Plato and a Platypus Walk Into a Bar Understanding Philosophy Through Jokes by Thomas Cathcart

I didn't even see that 't' in there, Lahni. Good catch! I would assume that Tien wouldn't pick a shelf with 28 books for us to read and she meant another shelf (either the one I posted or others with a similar name) but she can come in and confirm.

8565 Here's my review of RPO: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... (it's a bit long but that's the usual with me, LOL!)

I just realized that I re-listened it less than 6 months ago and enjoyed it as much the second time around. Now I'm thinking of relistening to it again!

8565 It has the most books so I'm debating between that one and laugh out loud.

8565 Lauren - I don't know if you read dystopia but a lot of it is considered science fiction.

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline is fantastic.

8565 Now I'm at 14 read: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Books Read per Year Added
2012: 3
2013: 4
2014: 7

I'm not participating in Readers's Pursuit so I'm having time to concentrate on this. Also, I've decided to take it somewhat easy and pick books that are calling out to me instead of those that I've been neglecting for whatever reason.

8565 I didn't realized I hadn't updated this list in a month. Anyhow, I finished my 13th book, which sucked by the way. :)

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

As I originally had decided to read 17 books and I'm almost done (I'm reading two books from the list now) I decided to up it to 25. As an additional hurdle, I'm picking only books that have been on my TBR prior to 2015. Just for kicks, I'm keeping track of how many books I'm reading per year added. No surprisingly, 2014 is ahead!

Added 2012: 3
Added 2013: 3
Added 2014: 7

8565 Matt & Debi - The Harry Potter series is SO worth the read. I came to it late too - I read the series maybe 2 or 3 years ago and was blown away.

If you are into audios, I totally recommend those. They are among the best I've listened.

Hahahaha!! Lots of green buttons for me too.

This is a shelf where looking at the genres tab for the most read list might be useful. I found several more books from my TBR in there without having to look page by page:

Ooh! Very interesting shelf! I know what I'm reading! Child 44 (Leo Demidov, #1) by Tom Rob Smith (didn't even have to check the shelf, LOL!)

8565 It seems a lot of what I read lately falls in this shelf. :) I just finished Tempting Danger (World of the Lupi, #1) by Eileen Wilks (a book from my Moving Mountains list) and gave it 4-stars. There weren't that many new things in this series that I haven't read before but I really liked the heroine with a Chinese ancestry and the serious discussions on the whole mated pair business. Definitely continuing the series. :)
