Me, too. Now to listen...

8565 I decided to delete the app from my phone yesterday. Today I re-installed it and successfully downloaded the books! Success!

8565 I downloaded the app but cannot get through the signup process. It asked for the provided code...gave it. It asked for my email...gave it. It asked if I was a robot...said no...and then repeatedly had to choose the pics...over and over and never approved me.

Don't think this is for me. Too bad. I was interested.

8565 Thanks for this info, Dee, but I couldn't figure out how to use this. The app seems to be related to schools...and I am many hundreds of years outside of those institutions!

8565 I will probably read Anxious People
8565 I read The Siege Winter by Ariana Franklin. This was the book that Diana Norman (AKA Ariana Franklin) was writing when she died in 2011. Her daughter, Samantha Norman (a writer in her own right), has finished the book. I couldn't tell where one writer ended and the other began. It was seamless.

This is England in 1141. There is a war for the throne going on between King Stephen and his cousin, Empress Matilda. Maud is a young woman, married to a boor of a husband, who must survive, defend her castle and people, and somehow outlive her husband.

I enjoyed this book very much. It had strong characters, who were totally believable and true to their time. The life of that time was hard. Maud was a woman who was determined to make it her own.

I nominate British Literature.

8565 I think I need coffee before I can understand this one.

Thinking it out: I will read 15 books spread over several of the listed challenges. This could be books that I have planned for those challenges. If I did not participate in any of those games, I could pick a book consistent with the rules as amended above.

So...since I participate in these challenges, I can read 8 books from By the Month (say for May) then 5 from Lost (or Found) and 2 from Seriously Serial. Is that right?

8565 Congrats, Michelle!

8565 One-quarter of the year is done! How is everyone doing with this challenge?

Since there are 3 parts, I will be announcing the second part (new books on TBR) at the end of April. It does require a finish of Part 1. Is anyone close to finishing?

I have only read 1 book. Really lagging on this.

8565 Oh, my. Another month where this game got lost in the woods. Really not doing well. I seem to be reading a lot, but nothing for this game!

March: 10 + 9 + 11 = 30. Read 1.

However, I did manage to read 1 more from Feb (although it didn't count since not a March book) and I am reading 3 others from previous months (which also won't count for this game).

Tien, you are an amazing woman. Congrats on the status!
14. Arrays (32 new)

8565 Now which will I do? I read a lot of series, so if I choose that it will probably be 2 books from 7 series. BUT, I like the idea of reading from different shelves.

Decided! I read primarily from a limited number of shelves, and, since I am trying hard to catch up on all my many challenges...and so far behind...I have decided to go with 7 books from 2 shelves.

SHELF: Mystery (Oct 8)
1. The Chocolate Bunny Brouhaha
2. Therapy
3. Uneasy Lies: A Helen Keremos Mystery
4. A Question of Belief
5. Scent to Her Grave
6. Murder In Mykonos
7. Skeleton Man

SHELF: Fantasy (Feb 9)
1. The Keeper of Lost Things
2. Changeless
3. The Book of Chameleons
4. Magic for Liars
5. Monstress, Vol. 1: Awakening
6. The Earth Hums in B Flat
7. A Kiss of Shadows

8565 I read The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson. This was not on my planned list but was a book planned for several other challenges.

It is the interesting story of a 100 year old man who escapes from the nursing home on the day of his century birthday just before the party being given for him.

The story is filled with his adventures during his lifetime (quite fantastical and involving many world leaders) as well as the current one of his escape. He meets quite a bunch of characters whose own stories are told as they intertwine with his. 4*.

I nominate Humor.
