8565 Wow! It has been a long time since I posted here.

Finished!!!
Against All Enemies for Fifteen, Lost, MM and old games

That alone is worth all the celebration that I can do. Not only was it a BIG book and a bit outside my genres, it turned out to be an engaging story. Imagine that!

8565 Well, this pick is interesting. Right off the bat, two series pop up that are on my New Series shelf - The Murderbot Diaries and the Monk & Robot series. I have heard so much about the Murderbot books that it is a strong contender for this month.

The other one that popped on the first page is a x.5 book of a series that I am reading...albeit not too actively (A Court of Thorns and Roses, 3.5). I usually skip the x.5 books when reading in order. Maybe I should consider dipping my toes into this one.

8565 I am a month behind, but I finally read Cress. This is book 3 in the series, which I thought was next to read. Imagine my surprise to find that I had skipped book 2. The good thing is that the main character in book 2 was not very involved in the action in this book.

Cress is the story of an android (Cinder) who is trying to stop a marriage. This android cares deeply for the man to be married and is trying to overthrow the woman who is evil and wants to become the ruler of the universe! It helps that Cinder really is the moon's true ruler...and the man she cares for is an earthly ruler. And Cress? She is another android who is trying to assist.

I don't usually like futuristic fiction, but this was fun with flawed androids and new encounters with earth. I found myself routing for this varied band of misfits. 4*.

I nominate sci-fi fantasy.

8565 I read The Girl Who Reads on the Métro and gave it 3*, partly because the setting seemed fluid to me and partly because at times I struggled to remember who was who. Still it was an overall interesting story.

I nominate female authors.

So glad that there is no time frame on this one. I was at the library and decided to check the shelves for an I author with 5 letters in the last name as I had none that fit on my lists. Found it and checked it out only to wonder if the game could start so soon! I think I will hold it and start the game October 1.
