Salem laughed at Elizabeth's snarky comment. She didn't know what it felt like to be completely isolated from her family and left to fend for herself in a town where you can spot a cat turn into a human in the morning then a vampire biting into someone's neck at night. But, yet, it's better if Elizabeth never felt that feeling. It's an emptiness that never goes away. Her smile wavered every so slightly at her own thoughts but brushed it aside as she skipped up the stairs.
"Thank God for Lorezno." She breathed, following her friend into her room. Salem never got familiar with Elizabeth's brother like she did with all the others, he was always the type to show up briefly only to disappear again. Salem always wanted to have a conversation with him, he really seemed like the type to have so much to say. Yet his always I'm-not-in-the-mood-for-conversation attitude has always deterred her. "What has he been up to lately?" She asked turning into Elizabeth's bedroom and gingerly sitting on the edge of her bed.
"Seriously Liz, it's really easy. I know once I show you, you're gonna get it right away." Salem chided, flopping her backpack on the bed and digging out her Calculus textbook, slightly cracked MacBook, and her trusty TI-84 computer graphing calculator. If she doesn't know what shes better at than math.

Casper truthfully has never met a vampire like him before. He has tried his hardest to distance himself from a lot of people, so encountering other supernaturals came once in a million. And judging from her reaction, it seemed like she hasn't either which was somewhat refreshing, and might he add -- just a tad bit comforting. No matter how much he wants to think he is adjusted to the new life he has to lead, every day feels way more different than before. 5 years is not enough time to fully feel adjusted in this new body of his.
Casper raised his hands at the sudden change in this girls body language. He wasn't the intimidating type and his sweater and jeans don't really scream Danger! so he could only come with the conclusion that she was shocked at his nonchalant behavior. Smiling at her in hopes of calming her down some, careful to not flaunt his sharp fang-like canines, he shrugged.
"I guess you could say that." He said finally. Thinking about what he just said and the way he worded it, he tried again "I'm sorry, I'm going to stop being so cryptic," offering his hand for a shake he continued "Casper Grey, a pleasure to meet your acquaintance. And you are?"

Salem grinned when the door opened, revealing a tornado of video games, shouting, and clothes strewn around the floor in a lazy fashion. Salem sighed with content. She viewed Elizabeth's house as more of a home to her than her own dingy apartment. Though messy at times due to having so many brothers running around, it just felt so alive. At Salem's, the only sound that could be heard is the fire alarm that beeps whenever she forgets to replace the battery and her own breathing. Surely anyone would pick the loud house over the lonely one.
Walking into the house she was hit by warmth from the heaters that contrasted the cold air outside that she was previously standing in. With her cheeks still flushed from the chilly weather outside, she took her coat off, putting it absentmindedly on the coat hanger by the door. "It's fine," She laughed running her hands up and down her arms to further warm her up "I bet whatever show they're watching is way more important than whatever was at the door." She countered shrugging. "Hey, guys!" She called out to the boys, who didn't even slightly move to say anything back to her.
Ah, how much she loved this house.

Well shit his plan of escape was compromised by this girl. He sighed loudly running his hands through his hair hurriedly "Look, shit, I'm really sorry." He repeated, mentally kicking himself for repeating his statement a second time. He reached for some thin tissue at the end of the table to sweep the puddle of coffee that stained her seat. "I really wasn't looking" He apologized again ducking his eyes to avoid her gaze, which is probably fired with anger. "Did I burn you?"
He looked at her in disbelief when she laughed it off. Is she okay? Is everything alright up in that head of hers? Part of him was relieved, but the other part was confused. "I-buy another one?" Nas question, his head tilting ever so slightly. Why was she being nice to him? Her sunny disposition was something he was not used to. "I spilled coffee on you why would you buy me coffee?" She intrigued him. How can someone be so cheery with sticky brown stains covering their previously clean outfit?

Being invited to Elizabeth's house was the only thing Salem had planned for the whole day. She's been cooped up at home for the past couple of hours trying to figure out how to levitate a pencil from her bed to her drawer (let's just say things didn't really work out) for the 16th time this week. Her frustrations can only be released when she visits her
onlyWarwick friend so she was more than glad to come over to help her study.
You see, spells are definetly not her strong suit. But books? Books definitely are. They've always been, even before she was cursed to never leave this godforsaken town. She's always been a straight A student and becoming an entirely different species did not change that in the slightest.
At the doorstep of Elizabeth's house she rang the doorbell, red backpack strapped lazily over one shoulder, blonde hair in a high pony. After waiting for what seemed like a minute she pressed the doorbell again humming to herself as she waited.

Her scurried response gained a dry chuckle and a raised eyebrow out of Casper. It was interesting to see her embarrased by something that came natural to their species. She was a vampire it was too obvious to tell. And yet he’d think she’d be more careful than to feed in broad daylight by a very popular trail. Crossing his arms he decided to indulge her. “I think it’s exactly what it looks like.” He laughed, surveying the damage.
“Poor Thumper didn’t stand a chance.” He looked over the rabbit, slowly approaching the pair, one dead and one wide eyed.
(short sorry!)

Nasir was sitting alone. Well I mean, he always does so this doesn't come as a surprise. But even with no one at his table, he still wasn't completely by himself. Call it crazy but, the voices in his head swarm around his subconscious every day without an off switch. He's been able to tune them out lately but today was a different story. Today, jumbles of unfinished sentences and chopped up words with no meaning bombarded Nasir with a different kind of ferocity as he sipped his straight black coffee.
No. Today is just not his day.
Deciding that it would just be better to deal with his uncontrollable physic abilities at the comfort of his own home and not in public, he abruptly stood from his chair and proceed to the door, eyes down, afraid that people were staring at him. This turned out to not be the smartest idea, for he tripped on a table leg right before he made it outside, causing his coffee to fly out of his hand and land all over the girl sitting by the window.
"I'm so sorry" He offered, looking up to meet her eyes. Only when he looked at her that did the voices finally pause.
(wow this was trash im sorry)

It might have taken him a couple months to adjust, but to Casper, it felt like decades. He oftentimes came to the woods as a way to escape, to cope with the foreign changes in his body that caused every fallen leaf that crushed under his foot to startle him and every bird call ring in his ear long after he heard them. As he walked down the forest trail his eyes searched for any movement in the vegetation, nervous about the possibility that he would be spotted by someone he knew.
His old friends knew he changed, but didn't know how. This is the way Casper wanted to keep it. He's been ignoring their calls and texts faithfully for about 4 years now. In their minds, he's just distanced himself, no longer wanting to be a part of their lives. And Casper was okay with that. He'd rather them view him as an asshole than a bloodthirsty monster. He'd rather anyone views him like that. He could pretend to be anything other than who he truly was. A vampire.
As his mind trailed off with thoughts of his past life his hands found it's way absentmindedly into his pockets. He hasn't fed in a while (the whole ordeal, though not as horrifying anymore, still makes him sick to his stomach). He wondered about where he'd find his next meal. He never tried the animal diet, usually his supply would be donated blood he stole from the hospital during his night shifts. That would have to wait another day. Turning the corner he laid eyes on something, no someone hunched over a flash of white. A girl?
When she looked up he saw the stream of red trickling down past her chin and dripping onto the forest floor. She was like him. He can tell that much. "Hey, is everything alright?" He called from a distance, now more curious than confused.
