ARIA
Curious is the adjective linked to Aria. As a (hopeful) future journalist and an intern for the local newspaper, Aria has been firmly caught up with the tales of mysterious murders and incidents that seem to be too complex to cross off as mere accidents. When her nose isn't stuffed into the nearest paperback scrawled with her own personal notes and citations, you can find it wandering in places it doesn't belong, specifically your business.
Lore and mythology have always been her favorite genre (she is actively trying to transfer to college who would offer a mythology & folklore minor) so she has her fair share of mythological knowledge. But her gullible human mind will not permit her to actually believe things such as that can possibly be true, no it's strictly fantasy. The things happening in Warwick are just coincidences, right?
Milan's family has resided in Warwick since the first non-native inhabitation. Years and years of cohabitation caused her family's human lines and the lines of the skinwalkers to intertwine, so Milan can proudly say she is part human somewhere along her ancestral line. What she isn't proud of, however, is the fact that every other part of her is full blooded skinwalker. Her mother and two brothers all have enough human genes to suppress their shifts, but Milan and her late father were lucky enough to be deprived of most of those, which cause their powers to go a bit...haywire.
For years Milan has had to learn how to control her powers by herself due to the absence of her father because if not, she could shapeshift at the drop of a hat. If you were in her 7th-grade class you would be able to recall the time she was nervous about a presentation and instead of freezing up like a regular student, she shifted into a frog. If not you must have heard of the time she got drunk at a party freshman year and whilst dancing on a table...shifted into a very large alligator. So forgive her if she comes across as gated or passive, she's been the butt of too many jokes and would rather not transform into some random zoo animal for the sake of a couple new friends.

Call it ironic, call it foreshadowing but Salem Penderghast was named before she stepped foot in Warwick. Salem still doesn't even think she is truly cut out to be a witch. Hell, the poor girl can't tell a hex from a charm that's how inexperienced she is. It was just her luck that her car broke down on the way to her true destination, which was somewhere in Phoenix Arizona (she can't even remember at this point), because silly Salem thought it would be "fun" and "spontaneous" to take the scenic route. Ha! Boy was she wrong.
The only thing she knows as of right now is that she's stuck in this town, lost, without any guidance or a route to escape that didn't result in her immediate death. Nowadays she's been spending her time isolated in her apartment, face deep in some dusty, old book written almost entirely in Latin (seriously though, why are spells so hard?) trying to figure out how she is going to live her new life in this town. Hopefully it won't be too hard to cope, Salem already feels like she's losing her mind.
