Okay, now I have a question about the bar scene. Not the bathroom, the bar.It seems like everyone is pretty ticked off about what happened there. Understandably. I wonder if you think there was enough emphasis put on the reason.
(view spoiler)
Was that enough? One line? Or, does it just flat out not matter. No excuses for what happened?
Thanks Brandon.Anna, it is the descriptions that set this book apart. They were, for me, so unexpected and unique. I was instantly absorbed by them.
On this reread I've slowed down and really tried to think about some of the descriptive terms. They're not something a sighted person would come up with, are they? The description of "Franks" parts are often associated with emotions rather than a visualization. For a writer I think that would be an incredibly difficult state of mind to put yourself in. Hunter doesn't have the references that sighted people to, so he refers to things by the emotions they emote. I think this is why Hunter struck me as Zen focused. Something about the body and mind connection.
Anyway, I can't think of another bit of writing that I've come across that has descriptions anything like these.
Poor Brandon. He probably can't believe this thread has gone this direction, lol. What he really needs to know is that most of us commenting here know each other very well from another group. We've gotten comfortable talking about 'everything' over the last 8 months or so.
Very interesting.I'm straight. I read and adore m/m romance. I've watched porn, straight, gay, 2 chicks (wouldn't really qualify as lesbian)and anything goes orgy stuff and I "could" get interested in all of it.
In RL I don't want to be with another female but I've certainly dreamt it.
I kinda think, given the right situation, you could be attracted to anyone, maybe not for a life-long partner, but for a tryst. Maybe it just just depends on your mood or glandular persuasion of the moment.
*I'm not a sex therapist I'm just acting like one
:P
How does being an Indie affect the ability to pre-sell? That's sort of rhetorical, but geez!Okay, good to know/confirm about the links from your site. I want to do the most good. Thanks Brandon.
@Brandon - This is probably a dumb question, but is there a reason A2 isn't available for pre-order on Amazon? Also, is it better to buy it through the links on your website?
LOL, yeah I guess you could read my post either way, sorry. I meant after reading it. I don't think there is a lot of happy in 'Rain'. That's okay though, there wasn't in 'Dust' either and it still had a profound effect on me, so shedding tears is worth it.
No, no, no Brandon, leave it alone. I'll be it's perfect. We're not that demanding, are we?I've been thinking about Lydia and Toby. Hm. Is it too soon to speculate?
