this whole book had some very fucked up familial relationships or hints at them *barf*

I suppose with how much she associated Manderley to Rebecca, in her mental state by the end of the book, she would have wanted to erase that final tie to Rebecca.

Now I like Mrs. Danvers a little more than I already did.. and I liked her more than any other character.

Yes, Manderley is burnt by Mrs. Danvers.. at least that's how the book hints. The new movie definitely shows Mrs. Danvers burning it.

Well if not for Rebecca's note.. but yeah, Favell had a bigger part to play than we thought in the beginning.

I should write a review too, and I will just I'm not sure if it'll happen today 😂 I don't know how to connect words for it now.

wait wait, wasn't Wrath working for Pride?

I finished the book! I'm not that blown away with it, I'm pretty indifferent towards it. I must comment how everything that happened in the end, how it all played out reminded me of a Hitchcock movie, plus the fact that I watched the original Rebecca movie from 1940 helps that mood.

Things got more interesting after.. well, you'll know what I mean, what discovery. I thought I'll finish it tomorrow, but I have 2 more chapters left.

I didn't start it, and I don't think I will at this time. I'm struggling with Rebecca at the moment, and after it I'll read some romance to reset myself.

I'm glad you are enjoing it more than you thought you would :D

😂 I must be weird because I didn't find it creepy 😂😅 She too is pulled into the Rebecca web, although her obsession is of another kind. I would think of their relationship more of the mother-daughter type than a lesbian one 😅 but even that one doesn't feel that right.

I feel more like Mrs. Danvers even aware of Rebecca's true nature (although, did she know the real Rebecca or was that only Maxim?) idolized her, and that Rebecca with her charm manipulated her like all the others she has met. And I think Mrs. Danvers wasn't aware she was another pawn in the game Rebecca was playing, more like she thought of herself as someone that was IN on the game(?) rather than someone that was a part.

I just finished chapter 20. Things are more interesting now, however it was too many pages and chapters of me feeling indifferent towards the book that I don't really care what happens next.

Chapter 16.
I think something is going to happen when she does decide to listen Mrs. Danvers about the white dress.. Like maybe Rebecca wore it or something, and then she'll see that Mrs. Danvers was not really friendly in that moment when she suggested it, and that she's a fool.

HA! I was right. Serves you right MC. It's stupid how with her overactive imagination of all bad things she didn't think of a bad situation to listening to Mrs. Danvers.
