if you are liking this series you are going to enjoy the rest too because the writing just get's better. Also it's important to read it in order because it's all connected and characters appear in other series. So it's Shadow and Bone books, then it is Six of crow books, and at the end King of Scars book.

For the adaptation.. it's a mix of SaB and SoC, and I personally don't like how the crow characters are pushed into the same story, because the books are great and have one story while in the adaptation they don't get as much of light on them. All that is not surprising considering how adaptations are rarely the same as the books.

Nooo, don't watch the adaptation. Well, you can if you read Six of Crows, although I find that the series wasn't following much of the SoC book(s).

I started it and read 13%, and I haven't moved from that because I wasn't feeling like reading it so I just put it on hold.

I'll wait a bit to see if Elley says something, but I'll be closing this thread soon.

I'm glad you enjoyed it enough to finish it. It doesn't matter if the idea is predictable, you have so many cliche books that are still fun and good despite them being a cliche, but yeah the tone killed it here, at least for me.

Yeah, I was nitpicking at things too, I was more looking for things that I don't like than enjoying the book.

I wanted to join you reading this, and I started it, however I'm not going to read it past chapter 5. The first chapter didn't intrigue me, but I wanted to give it two more chapters because who knows maybe there's something that'll make me want to continue reading it, which didn't happen even after five chapters. There's just something that's not working for me. I hope you enjoy the story.

As for my reading... I honestly don't know what to say 😅 So far I read 80 books, but I'm also in a slump what feels thought out the whole year so far, so I don't know how much I'll read. And there's also the fact that I usually was more active in the wintery games, but again the slump 😅 so... I have no idea.

I've started the book, only read the firs 5 chapters, and since it's the start I don't really have anything to say, I'm still trying to figure out who is who because it has been almost a year since I read the last book.

I thought I would be able to at least start the book last night.. but I was asleep at 9pm so that didn't happen 😅

I may join you for the Empire of Storms.. and maybe till the end. I don't know what my slump says to all of those plans but I guess I'll see.
