Thanks Jean! Three fabulous books. Did you read any of these with your SBT1 class?

Thank you, Fatheha, some great reviews of some fantastic books. Please make sure you're posting reviews, not comments, or they won't show up in your final list at the end of the PGCE.

Thanks, Iyabo! Two great books

Thanks Jade. If you like Horrid Henry, you might enjoy
Clementine or
Agatha Parrot and the Floating Head.

Thanks, Una, Charlene and Steve! it is interesting how books we love as children don't always stand the test of time, Steve. However, I hope that by doing Task 1 you'll find some new favourites.

Thanks Micheal. Make sure that you're posting reviews, rather than comments, or your review won't show up in your list of 12 at the end of the programme.

Thanks, Miriam and Fazeena!

Thanks Ruth, you've read two very special books!

Thanks Jade; those books are deservedly classics and it is interesting to see them used as sensory resources with children with PMLD.

Thanks, Sam and Kirran! I really like the Artemis Fowl books; I think they're great, fun adventures. If you enjoyed it I'd suggest
Mark Walden@s HIVE books,
Charlie Higson's Young James Bond or
Anthony Horowitz's Alex Ryder series.
Kirran, that is a lovely book. It's a great one for children at the Phase 1 level of phonics, to develop discrimination of sounds and also to develop the mouth shapes to form ssshhhh etc, as well as prediction skills and patterns of language.

Thanks Nafis. I disagree with you about
Where the Wild Things Are; I have found it a great book for discussing dealing with anger and emotions that are bigger than you (like the Wild Things) with children. It was one of my favourite books as a child, along with
In the Night Kitchen, often challenged by parents US school districts due to nudity!

Thanks all! great reviews.

Three great reviews, Megan, thanks! Have you read the first book in Judith Kerr's trilogy,
When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit?

Fantastic reviews, Donna and Ashley! Enjoy your final week of placement.

Thank you, Fazeena and Charlene. Some interesting books there. Book of Shadows sounds like a book I'd be careful of having in the classroom, Fazeena, as some families would not like their children reading books about Wiccca.
