Thank you, Mary! That sounds like a great book to use to extend children's vocabulary in Early Years.

A fantastic picture book for EYFS- Y1 children. I loved this! Never Say No To A Princess by Tracey Corderoy (check out her Hubble, Bubble, Granny Trouble too!)

Thank you, Raj and Monserrat. I've used
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe as a guided reading book to explore the features of fantasy genre with Y5, and children really enjoyed it. Monserrat,
Coram Boy certainly isn't for the faint hearted, but it is wonderful. A visit to the Foundling Museum has extra resonance after reading it.

Thanks Steve, that's a great review. Have you read Pullman's The Firework Maker's Daughter? That's a great book for younger children (Y2+)?

My review of Malorie Blackman's Thief, a science fiction/ fantasy adventure novel for upper KS2. She's best known now for her young adult novels, like Noughts and Crosses and Boys Don't Cry (which are brilliant), but she has also written fantastic picture books, and chapter books for KS2.

Thanks Jamila! It's a fantastic book for teaching the names of colours in the Early Years and KS1, especially to children in the early stages of learning English, and to explore the effects of colour and colour mixing.

Here is my review of You're A Bad Man, Mr Gum! by Andy Stanton. It was so good I am seriously tempted to read the whole series!

Fairy Tales. Absolutely beautiful.

You need to make sure that you are linking to the review, not the book- otherwise only people who are friends with you will see your review.

Lovely review, Georgina, with some great ideas. It's a fantastic book; I've read it to many, many children who always love spotting the characters.

Great reviews, Safraz and Megham, of two great books.
Sarah wrote: "Hello!! Here is my review on a well known favourite The BFG... I can't wait to get started in September and look forward to reading around for the next two reviews.
http://www.goodreads.com/review..."Thanks Sarah! It's a great book, one that children really respond to. If you like Roald Dahl, I recommend
Andy Stanton's Mr Gum books- the word play is brilliant, and
David Walliams's children's books, in particular
Mr Stink or Gangster Granny.
Deb wrote: "Hello and thanks for the warm welcome. Here is a review I wrote to get started on Green Eggs and Ham which is one of my favourite children's books of all time. I am sure I am not the only one who l..."This is a great review, Deb! Did you know that you can read this book if you have a sight vocabulary of only 50 words (The Cat in the Hat you need 100)? It's an ideal early reader, and the rhythm and rhyme elements make it ideal to read to Nursery and Reception classes to help them identify rhyme.

Welcome, new members! Please post reviews.

The Man Whose Mother Was A Pirate but I don't know that book. It looks fantastic.
