61281 I went to the bookstore today and saw Eldest on the shelf. Whaaa, I felt so pulled to it, and stared down at "Water For Elephants"--my sole purpose for going to the store. I had to get it for book club, but my money was burning for Eldest, hahaha.

Trongheim seems like it would be spectacular to look at! It's unfortunate that it wasn't even in the movie!

61281 What's up, Dalynn? Dusty books getting you down? (:

Me, too! Then again, getting a root canal might have been more enjoyable. x)

61281 Oh, I assumed the title on the photo, since the popup text is just as large as the text in posts?

61281 And alas, if you value your sanity for real literature, never do read it! At least the book I'm on now is really good. (:
Edgar Allan Poe (25 new)

61281 I thought I'd post a -tentative- Poe schedule, starting in March. I think it's understood that we'll be taking this one verryyyyy slow, so none of us get overwhelmed, hahaha. So here are some thoughts, if we go with three short stories a week, and then when he get to poems, a free-for-all.

March 1st:
The Unparalleled Adventure of One Hans Pfaall
The Ballooon-Hoax
Mesmeric Revelation

March 8th:
Ms. Found in a Bottle
A Descent into the Maelstrom
Von Kempelen and His Discovery

March 15th:
The Gold-bug
The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar
The Thousand-and-Second Tale of Scheherazade

March 22nd:
The Murders in the Rue Morgue
The Mystery of Marie Roget
The Fall of the House of Usher

March 29th:
The Purloined Letter
The Tell-tale Heart
The Black Cat

April 5th:
The Imp of the Perverse
The Premature Burial
The Island of the Fay

April 12th:
The Cask of Amontillado
The Pit and the Pendulum
The Oval Portrait

April 19th:
The Masque of Red Death
The Assignation
The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether

April 26th:
Mystification
How to Write a Blackwood Article
A Predicament

May 3rd:
The Literary Life of Thingum Bob, Esq.
Diddling
X-ing A Paragrab

How about we plan that far and then see what we want to do? That's only roughly half of Poe's stories, not including poems. What do you guys think?

61281 *drinks tea* Thank you, Hayley. I'm glad I have a support squad for the terror that was this book. (:

If you pass your mouse over the picture of the cover, a little popup with the title, series name and number, and author comes up. (: Does that help?

For instance, the one I just posted reads:
"Fallen (Fallen, #1) by Lauren Kate"

61281 Yay! I've wormed my way into your lives. (:
And where is this cartoon? I need to see it, hahah!

The Crystal Cave--a classic! I hope you like it! :D

61281 I like Jane Austen month and Classics month! (: You could also have Young Adult month although, for me, that's almost all the time. (:

61281 Fallen (Fallen, #1) by Lauren Kate

Not a dusty book, unfortunately, but it HAS been on my shelf for a while. (:
Eragon (71 new)
Feb 17, 2012 03:20PM

61281 Even though I didn't enjoy Eragon supremely (beautiful writing, but the details got to me, hahah), I'm dying to read Eldest! Mainly because of the spoiler my friend said, on accident, but then she couldn't remember anymore, and I'm piecing things together in my head and I HAVE TO KNOW.

Glad you're enjoying it, Dalynn! (: It's so beautifully written!
Feb 17, 2012 03:18PM

61281 S&S isn't on my dust shelf, but I own it and I haven't read it! Let me know if you guys are planning on doing a group read for it; I'd love to jump in! (:

I am going to read the whole thing! We're having a group read of it starting in March, with two short stories per week, I believe. (:
