1. The Bear and the Nightingale [audiobook] ⭐️⭐️⭐️
i wanted to like this i did, but so much of it fell short for me and felt kind pointless? a shame given all the praise this book has received. won't be continuing.
2. Fable for the End of the World [audiobook] ⭐️.5
what a disappointing start to this reading month. this book felt really familiar to me, especially the end of the book and i had the worst case of deja vu that i still can't place. the story itself had potential, but god i hated it. unfortunately i have yet to read a book around deadly games that were actually good (except for the icon that is the hunger games). won't be continuing with this series.
edit: no this book actually pisses me off the more i think about it. one, this is NOT a stand-alone despite being advertised as one. it literally ends on a semi-cliffhanger with NO resolution and if it is a standalone, this book is even worse than i thought. again, if you want a 'to the death' games sort of setup, you get two books. that's it. the hunger games and chain gang all stars. I'm sorry but that's it. god this book is awful.
3. Sorcery of Thorns [456] ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
this was a really enjoyable read. didn't love it as much as her debut, but was entertaining enough.
4. We Are All Guilty Here [audiobook] ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
i actually really loved this one, more than i expected. didn't see all the twist coming, and the one's i did weren't ruined by me guessing them. no clue what the next book will entail, but i'll definitely pick it up as always!
5. The Bride Test [320] ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
this was so so so so sweet and cute!
6. Katabasis [560] ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
love love loved this book, my fav by her.

1. Two Can Play [audiobook] ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
this was so so so so so good i want to inject it into my veins.
2. Snatched [audiobook] ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
such a great read, so compelling in such a short amount of time.
3. Small Boat [122] ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
this was such an incredible and important read, very rewarding of all its praise.
4. Criminal [517] ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
i think this is my new favourite will trent book, incredible. i also loved the past storyline more than the present which rarely happens.
5. Wayward [audiobook] ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75
enjoyable read, don't love it though.
6. My Sister, the Serial Killer [audiobook] ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
7. The Jaguar [audiobook]
this book wasn't suited for the audible format imo, doesn't feel right to rate it as such.
8. You Have a Match [305] ⭐️⭐️
this book unfortunately wasn't good. i wanted to like it, it had elements that intrigued me, but ultimately nothing was fully developed and lacklustre for me.
9. Girl in Pieces [audiobook] ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
teenage me would've loved this.
10. The Family Upstairs [audiobook] ⭐️⭐️⭐️
very generous three.
11. Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil [audiobook] ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
i wanted to love this, it had all the hallmarks of a good book, but it was just fell short for me. there's nothing about this book that made me not love it, it just didn't resonate with me.
12. Tress of the Emerald Sea [audiobook] ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75
again, i really thought i would love this one but it just felt a bit juvenile to me?
13. Nineteen Minutes [audiobook] ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
14. The Passage [977] ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As for the spreadsheet, I've tentatively put in Elena Knows for the 'older mc' prompt and Hurricane Season for a 2010s book. If Jenn manages to finish her book better suited for the prompt in the mean time, feel free to switch things around - but I'll check back in tomorrow (my time) either way. Happy reading!

I think we should go ahead and count all the pages. I'm pretty confident that we will fill all the prompts. If we somehow don't finish, we can shuffle books from the Bonus area to co..."
Sorry I was offline yesterday, long day at work! I agree with you TerryJane, count all the pages from books completed as from the looks of the spreadsheets all the prompts should be filled by the end of the challenge.
As for my remaining reads, I'll read a book to fulfil the 'older mc' prompt and finish call of the wild for the 1900s prompt. From there, it seems all prompts are taken care of. I'll read a book that is applicable for the 2010s prompt and if both Jenn and I complete our books, I think whichever book is longer can go there for the additional points.
The first book I read during this challenge was All the Stars and Teeth which was published 2020. Since I read 103 pages for it, I think its eligible to go into the bonus prompt section. If not, let me know!

Reading over the spreadsheet and the chat, it seems we're on track to complete those 48 prompts. TerryJane has logged some extra books that can be used if any prompts aren't completed by Sunday, but I think we've made an amazing effort so far!
