51477 Just watched the unrated/alternate ending version of Fifty Shades...not much different from the original! Not really worth the extra $$ over the cost of the DVD, wish my curiosity hadn't gotten the best of me. LOL

I'm sorry you didn't like this one hon, I thought it was decent but I've read very few mermaid novels so it was unique for me.

I don't usually gravitate towards mermaid stories, but I liked this one. Nothing epic, but enjoyable enough. Hope you end up liking it!

Definitely a must-read, but like Brooke said they aren't a retelling. The MCs are actors and they play Romeo and Juliet at the university they attend, but it's more of a "bad boy needs to shake his past and brings the love of his life down with him in the process" story. Lots of torment and sexual tension, I loved it! ;-)

Oh it was incredible, you'll surely love it if you loved Bad Romeo. I'm all about the angsty, sexual tension-filled reads so this was like Heaven on earth for me. LOL

I'm with you, I don't have my reading time or my hop on the laptop and chat on GR time this week and it's painful. =/ Hope the ARC is good hon!

51477 Oooooh, good Lord, I'm on a book high right now! I had family in town so I've been MIA on my laptop, but in my down time I was reading Bad Romeo (Starcrossed, #1) by Leisa Rayven ...which of course means I devoured every page and had to go straight to Broken Juliet (Starcrossed, #2) by Leisa Rayven because well, damn! Seriously addicting storyline, and unforgettable characters who had such intense chemistry together you could feel it! Wow, just incredible, thank you to everyone who suggested this one!!

I'm going to be in a book daze for awhile over that one, but next up for me is Loving Dallas (Neon Dreams, #2) by Caisey Quinn once I can get my mind clear.

Well, I can definitely understand why you'd be hesitant, because if I had heard this when I read SM I would have felt the same. On the flip side, knowing what you do, you can avoid the need for angry venting because you felt completely duped by the author...so I guess there's a positive in that. I won't spoil the rest of the series for you, but at least you aren't going in with blinders. And I will say, despite how much I adored Adam, Tahereh DOES give you good things with a HEA in this series. So I'm never going to forgive her completely, but my heart is happy with how things ended so you may be too. Give it a go, because it really is an amazing series.

51477 Oh, I finished End of Days (Penryn and the End of Days, #3) by Susan Ee and I was glued to that book ALL DAY!! SO good, absolutely the perfect ending to this addicting, entirely unique series. Now I'm going to take a breather and catch up on reviews because I'm in a post-apocolyptic read coma!

Yeah, I really liked Obsession too! It seems so random that she put that out there, now, I wish she'd have gone on with it beyond one book.

I was so angry with Tahereh for what she did to Adam. Everyone's probably tired of reading my rants about it on here, but she created this amazing character in Adam and got us to adore him, then trashed him...grrrr. Okay, rant #29 done. LOL

Faking it was really good, love that series!

51477 I'm a little bummed, I finished Dark Instincts (The Phoenix Pack, #4) by Suzanne Wright and I just didn't love it like the first two books. I feel like the first two were incredible, and the 3rd and 4th were just good. I love Wright's work, but that intensity that the first two books of this series had seems to have fizzled for me. The sexy scenes are all commanding alpha-wolf hot, but I'm not feeling that connection to the characters that made my heart race with Taryn and Jaime's books. Maybe it's just me, who knows!

My copy of End of Days came in the mail so I'm diving in!!

I'll toss it in after one that tears me up, maybe it'll be a good light read when I need less emotion. =/

Ugh, DI was a big disappointment for me. Curious what you'll think of it, I feel like she's just lost her spark with this series.

Oh there are so many series I have that response to, from my fave authors, too! lol Carnal Secrets (The Phoenix Pack, #3) by Suzanne Wright was good, but definitely not as great as her first two. I'll be reading Dark Instincts soon, I'll let you all know if it's worth a go!

51477 Finished The Mistake (Off-Campus, #2) by Elle Kennedy in a day, loved it! I hopped on amazon to see which books I needed to grab up that are on my list, and I realized the next of the Phoenix Pack series is out Dark Instincts (The Phoenix Pack, #4) by Suzanne Wright ! I know everyone was disappointed in book 3, but I'm not giving up on this series yet. Another one I can't wait to dive into!!
