439228 I loved the death-stench circus! The art in this book was cool and creepy, but the dialog wasn't the best. I thought the best part was the bonus story at the end about the fault - that was awesome!

I am looking forward to this one! I have been working through a slew of library holds that all cam in at the same time so I haven't started Lovecraft Country yet. I am hoping to start it next week.

439228 Ok, here are my April picks for you.

I saw that in one of the posts on the sign-up thread you mentioned you were interested in true crime. I loved Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI.

Next I will go with a classic - My Cousin Rachel. I love Du Maurier.

For fantasy, I will choose The Final Empire. I think the first trilogy of this series is amazing!

For dystopian, you can't go wrong with Margaret Atwood! I will suggest The Handmaid's Tale. I am so excited for the sequel to come out! Or you can try Oryx and Crake.

Last, I just read Take Me with You and it made me want to hug the book. It's super short so you can read it in a sitting too.

Happy reading! I hope you find something to love!

439228 Hi Aqsa! I am looking forward to doing this challenge with you! I don't care if you want to throw out some suggestions that aren't on my TBR. I have pretty wide tastes in books and some of my favorite reads the last couple years have been books I wouldn't have chosen on my own.
As a side note, I have some books goals this year to read more books by authors of color and books translated into English if you have any suggestions along those lines.

439228 I ended up starting Doctor Sleep today. I had to look up when NOS4A2 and Doctor Sleep were published because Manx has a cameo right in the beginning. They were both published in 2013. So I can see King and Hill kind of collaborating on the theme of psychic vampires and working on those books at the same time.

439228 I am planning on reading this one in April too!

439228 I ended up spending all day yesterday reading reading My Grandmother asked me to tell you she's Sorry because I couldn't put it down! I absolutely loved it.

439228 I also have Looking for Alaska on hold but probably won't get to that until next month, which is technically 2nd quarter but it's a book I want to read.

439228 I've been playing catch up with the flood of books that all came in at the same time on overdrive, but I am looking to start the Backman book next week.

The dune books were my audio gateway, lol! I am a crocheter and my biggest dilemma was always - do I read or crochet with my free time? I felt like audio was "cheating". But once it occurred to me that I could listen to books while I crochet I tried it with the Dune universe and I was hooked. Now I have a long commute, so audio books make that pleasant too.

439228 I am still like 2 weeks out on my library hold, but I am looking forward to this book! I have never seen the movie either, so I am going in without preconceived ideas on the story.

439228 Never read it, but I want to!

Let's try Skinny Legs and All

I LOVED it! As with all short story collections some were better than others, but overall I gave it 5 stars because the stories that were good were superb. I read the Broken Earth Trilogy of hers and you can see where the idea for that series came from in one of the stories. I just think her writing is fantastic. The first few stories were my favorite.
