May I recommend The Android's Dream? I haven't read the others. This works as a standalone. Also A Nameless Witch

Oh. no!! I missed it!! I wanted to be the first on all of the 2017 threads! Congratulations Mrs. J.! *grumble, grumble*

One to go. Yaaayyyy! "
WOW!! You've done great!! Congratulations.
DoodlePanda wrote: "Aww thanks! :D I'm not sure if it's excellent or just a very long list of random stuff yet though! LOL"
Lets say its both! :)
The following link is what inspired me to start this thread. One of the suggested categories is to read a Translated Work.
21 of the Best New Novels Translated into English

No of course not! :)"
Aww! ;)
A challenge that seems to be gaining popularity is the "I'll Try Anything Once" challenge. It is comprised of a list of categories that the reader then tries to match with their reading selections. The challenge was first introduced to me by our very own Mrs. J a few years ago. Here is an example of the list that I have been using for my ITAO challenge.
Here is an excellent example, by DoodlePanda, of just how creative this challenge can be: The Doodle Noodle Book Buffet
This thread can be used for category suggestions or category fulfillment recommendations.
DP, do you mind if I link to this challenge for a thread I'd like to start on category possibilities? Please & Thank you.
Christa wrote: "There's a month left. Not... giving... up... yet. :DI finally got tired of reading on the Fire and added a Paperwhite to the collection. Wow. I'd forgotten how much I like frontlighted readers. "
Never Give Up! Never Surrender!
I tried the Fire for a while too but went back to my beloved Paperwhite. The Fire was then gifted to my MIL who had recently lost her Nook to ebook reader haven.
Orlok wrote: "No, the guy got it right away, and was very friendly about it :) He also came up with the rec straight away, even though I said he could have some time to think about it."
Oh, that's awesome! :)
Orlok wrote: "Well I did it yesterday. I noticed a guy across the aisle from me on the train was reading a Lee Child, so I asked him for a recommendation :-)It was The Feather Men by Sir Ranulph Fiennes (the explorer) btw. .."
Oh, it's cool that you got a rec. :) Was the conversation as odd as you feared?
MrsJoseph wrote: "Wow!I'm nowhere near ready for 2017."
I can't wait for it to get here. I'm kind of ready for 2016 to end, to be honest.
DoodlePanda wrote: ":DI might still change it a little, but I literally just wanted something to help my keep my reading mojo going, and I love crossing things out, so.... LOL"
Works for me! I wish you much reading mojo in the coming year!
DoodlePanda wrote: "Ok, made a new thread for The Doodle Noodle Book Buffet Challenge (thanks to Christa for the name :D )"That, my dear, is an awesome name!!! LOL
