Can't wait to see what you, Kwesi.

Tolkien was quite vague in describing the elves. I believe he cemented his ideas of elves more greatly in the LOTR books, or so I read somewhere. I had an image of hobbits much aided by the movies, I must confess.

This thread is to discuss your favorite poetry classic works and what you are reading in the classic realm of poetry.

Fallensnow, I do enjoy some poetry, but I don't read much of it, admittely. I like Emily Dickenson, Edgar Allen Foe, and "The Road Not Taken" by Frost in particular.
Good idea to have a thread to discuss poetry. I'll get one started.

Welcome aboard Bazzie1967, and any new member I have not welcomed.

Hi Sarah. Just read the ones that your interest attracts you to for now. Best way to start.

I loved Jane Eyre too, which inspired me to read all the Brontes.

Hello to all the new members. We're glad to have you!

Glad to have you join us, Susan.

I ended up reading the rest of this book compulsively, because I was so drawn into the story. It was a really excellent read.

I have yet to read Wuthering Heights. I'm girding my loins for it.

Just let me know when you're ready to do the reads, Nicolle. I'm flexible.

I started this last night. I like the writing so far. Good sly humor. Challenger is definitely larger than life.

I've finished reading this, and I am pondering what to say in my review. I really enjoyed it.

Really?! That is one of your favourite genres aswell isn't it?! Must be bad..."I like dark fiction, but not that kind of dark, I guess.

Jane Eyre. I just loved it. So complex and involving, with messages that are as timely for me today as yesterday.

Welcome to any new members! Glad to see a lot of new faces.
Congrats to Kwesi and Jill for becoming moderators. You are doing a great job!

I agree. Gandalf is interesting as well.

I just passed page 150. Lots of danger, magic, creatures, and a good amount of humor already.
