41817 Oh, no. Don't feel silly. I thought about putting a key, but I didn't get around to it. It's a good question.

41817 Donna, good luck to you. I am intimidated to read the Iliad. I don't really have the patience for long poems. So, I am impressed with you!

41817 It may take me a while to fill this thread up, but I intend to note my classic reading as I go. I read a lot of classic horror, so that will probably be evident to anyone who is checking in on me.

Key:

(SS)= short story
(N) = Novel
(P) = Play
(A) = Anthology

NO offense to fans of these books. For me, they were absolutely pointless wastes of time.
Defining a Classic (311 new)

41817 I guess I have two different definitions for classic books:

1)Books written many years ago that are available for people to read today.

2)Books that have endured in the minds of readers for many years, and have continued to gain the affection of new readers throughout the years.

41817 Hi everyone. I'm Danielle. Thanks for the friendvite, Nicolle. My classic reading is driven more by my particular genre (horror, romance, adventure, fantasy, science fiction) tastes, but I have discovered a treasure trove of good oldies that I am delving into. Great idea for a group!
