The sequel to "Planetfall", After Atlas made it to the final 8 books in the 2019 March Madness

Montserrat is also a mountain in Catalona, Spain (Near Barcelona). The island name comes from that mountain.
It means "serrated mountain" which if you look at the picture is exactly what it looks like.

In 1493, Christopher Columbus named the island "Santa María de Montserrate", after the Virgin of Montserrat in the Monastery of Montserrat, on Montserrat mountain

Big news today! We're joining Scott Johnson's wonderful podcast network, Frogpants Studios!!
So how are things going to change? Probably not too much! Hopefully we'll make some new friends and fans, and that'll open up some new opportunities for author interviews and so forth.

You will see "Sword & Laser" listed under "Other..." in the Podcast Menu.
Then it is in the list "Shows produced by friends of Frogpants!"

Agreed. Having our world terms in what is supposedly not our world, does pull you out of the story.
She named a place in the book Montserrat. Why would a fantasy world location have the same name as a Caribbean island and a Spanish mountain that is named from the Catalan language.
An editor should have picked that up and at least went for a spelling difference. Not the exact same spelling.
Not to mention all the English names like Violet, Dylan, Jack etc

It reminded me ab..."
I watched it in 2 goes. About 90 minutes + each time and I felt it finished off much better than it started.
It's no masterpiece, but I'd rate it a solid 7/10 for popcorn action movies.

My favourites would be:
Bitter Seeds
A Game of Thrones
Promise of Blood
Three Body Problem
The Calculating Stars
Rivers of London
Honourable Mentions:
Children of Time
Pandora's Star
Fire Upon the Deep
The Martian
Wool
We Are Legion, We are Bob
The Sparrow
Parable of the Sower
Books I struggled with:
The Once and Future King
Black Leopard, Red Wolf
Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits
Rule 34
Night's Master

and been married over 20 years. So I'd guess early to mid 40s.

I will finish the book. But the hype this book is getting online isn't deserved. It is average at best.

I wouldn't find it unusual if someone mentioned the temp in degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius.
I'd have a problem if they were talking Kelvin though 😉

I used to look at Comixology regularly to get an idea of the new stuff and what to buy, but since Amazon bought it, it has become totally unusable as far as comic book discovery.
I still buy my comics from Amazon. Anything I buy from there will show up on my ipad in the Kindle app and also the Comixology app and utilise the Guided View feature which I like.
I'm not a big superhero comic reader, so the DC & Marvel comic sites aren't much use for me.
My comic reading has dropped off since Comixology got acquired.

After almost 12 years, in my view we have become George's bitch 😉
I was in my 40s when ADWD came out 😕
I don't expect George or I to live to see the end of "A song of Ice and Fire"

I forgot that was happening. I will have to catch up on S1 of SNW before that happens.

That is the standard by which I will judge Star Trek by from now on.
I will check it out when I sign back up for P+ to watch Yellowjackets S2.

It is available on Paramount+. Which I occasionally have through my Prime account hub.
I would have checked it out for free, but I'm not a huge Trek fan that I will go chasing it.
I am surprised that youtube TV hasn't gone outside the US yet.

I'd add for the bingo card:
Doubts own abilities (Imposter Syndrome)

If you live in the US.

Of the Animated series. I would rate Rebels as my favourite with Bad Batch 2nd.
Bad Batch gets better as it goes on. Some of the last series was just brilliant.
