I usually save tor.com and other online fiction to Instapaper https://www.instapaper.com/ so I can read them on my phone or ipad. A similar service is called Pocket https://getpocket.com/

Both services work well to avoid reading on my computer.

Heroic Hearts, a collection of short stories edited by Jim Butcher and Kerrie Hughes came out last week, and this week, Jim Butcher posted a preview of the book on his website. The preview includes his contribution to the collection, "Little Things", a tale of Toot-Toot and Mister, and "The Dark Ship" by Anne Bishop.

Hmmm... The preview stories seem to be gone now. Unless I've gone mad and imagined reading "Little Things". Sorry.

4170 This month's Tor.com eBook Club free selection is a bundle of three novellas:

https://ebookclub.tor.com

A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers
Unlocked: An Oral History of Haden's Syndrome by John Scalzi
An Unnatural Life by Erin K. Wagner

Why These Books?

Written across a span of ten years, all three of these titles imagine a future for humanity that is deeply interwoven with mechanical lifeforms, disembodied intelligences, and people who embody multiple states of being. None of these books was written with awareness of the others, and yet all three stories communicate with each other in fascinating ways.

Unfortunately, US and Canada only. Not sure if it's enforced.

The first book in the series Slow Horses by Mick Herron was on sale a few weeks ago so I bought and read it. I enjoyed the story but I haven't decided if I want to continue reading the series, which has 7 titles with one more on the way https://www.goodreads.com/series/1013...

The book has the right vibes to make an entertaining tv show

4170 New from Flying Dog Brewery in Maryland, 451 Juicy IPA, a medium bodied imperial celebrating the human spirit’s innate thirst for knowledge, ideas, growth, and freedom. The name and artwork on the bottle refer to Farenheit 451, the 1953 dystopian novel about censorship by Ray Bradbury.

4170 I figured Veronica would discuss an Iceland Worldcon with Tom, so when I saw another tweet by Mary Robinette the next day, pointing out that she posted on April Fool's, I sent a tweet to @SwordandLaser asking if they had been Rikrolsoned, because I was. I missed the next livestream podcast where Iceland was discussed. Stuff happens on Twitter.
