Trike posted a link to an obituary for Greg Bear over in Quick Burns. I read a couple of his books, like Blood Music and Corona, before I started keeping track of what I read. Since then I've read Darwin's Radio and Psychlone. If I picked a book for S&L to read, I would probably choose Blood Music, but it's sort of like Arthur C. Clarke's Childhood's End.
What Greg Bear title would you recommend for S&L?
How many books are you importing in to bookwyrm? Do you have to recreate your shelves are can they be imported too? Please let us know how the import process goes, here or on discord. Thanks.
Back in 2017 we read The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman, first in a series of novels featuring librarian spies and different realities.Well Ms. Cogman is starting a new series next year, Scarlet, a "thrilling reinvention of The Scarlett Pimpernel with the addition of magic and even more mayhem".

Judge Blocks a Merger of Penguin Random House and Simon & Schusterhttps://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/31/bo...
Under the sale agreement, Random Penguins are obligated to pay roughly $200 million to Paramount Global, the conglomerate that owns Simon & Schuster, if the deal doesn’t go through. That's a lot of pickled herring.

Cowboy Bebop #1 by Dan Watters from Titan comics in 2022 is the first issue of a 4-issue miniseries. The trade paperback hasn't been released yet. It's based on the Netflix live-action series and has the right vibe, but the comics aren't quite the same as the original.
The manga I found are English translations published by Tokyopop.
Cowboy Bebop: Shooting Star, Volume 1 by Cain Kuga. There seem to be 5 or 6 manga in English. So far I've only run across a couple. There is also another floppy mini-series published by Tokyopop about the same time as the manga were released, but no large trade paperback version. One of the smaller manga might be a reprint of these comics but I'm not sure. The individual comics are too expensive. It's all a bit confusing.
Edit: The trade paperback collection Cowboy Bebop: Supernova Swing by Dan Watters is coming in November.
Read the recent Cowboy Bebop comics from Titan Comics then found a couple of the Cowboy Bebop manga from 1998. Will get started on those soon.

Agreed. The stories and animation hit all the right notes for me too. I don't know why, but I got a kick out of (view spoiler).
Paul posted news about Deep Wheel Orcadia by Harry Josephine Giles winning this year's Arthur C. Clarke award for science fiction book of the year.Apparently the book is in verse written in the Orcadian dialect, with a side-by-side English translation.

If this book is chosen for S&L maybe Tom and Veronica will voice a podcast entirely in verse.
