4170 Wait till everyone finds out I'm picking Rise of Empire 😉

4170 I would probably enjoy listening to Shohreh Aghdashloo read the phone book..

I'm really excited for this one! Please update!"

I'll have a review once I finish, but it will probably be a few weeks..
4170 Word is no sequels. Just prequels.

Happy birthday!

4170 After 3 months (one of which I spent reading nothing at all) I finally finished The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August. It finished stronger than it started but I didn't enjoy it as much as everyone else seems to - ★★★½☆ - (My Review)

I also listened to The Silkworm, which I thought was decent, but not fantastic. I'll probably continue on with the series eventually. - ★★★☆☆ - (My Review)

4170 So probably not an ideal choice for next month's pick then..

4170 So I know it's dystopian, but it seems like a bunch of people have shelved Trail of Lightning as Fantasy instead...

Half..... since when is 5/12 a half?

Anal retentiveness off now 🤗"

Im thinking it's the 6th month, hence the halfway. I guess I'll just reuse my lame joke in July..

4170 For my own personal challenges, I'm finished with:

Sword: 14/40 (35% complete, 7% behind)
Laser: 7/20 (35% complete, 7% behind)
Comics: 5/10 (50% complete, 8% ahead)

This month I've added +2 Sword, 1 Laser, 0 Graphic novels. I did another mystery book and FINALLY finished The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August after basically not reading anything for over a month or so. It's been a slow few months and I'm falling behind on my challenges.

For June I have at least 3 fantasy and 1 Sci-Fi book I expect to get through. I've been doing more non SFF the last few months and I kind of expect that trend to continue so I'm not sure if I'll do any others.

Depending on how quick I get through The Last Unicorn maybe I'll pick up another SFF book to read after.

4170 Cue the Bon Jovi cuz we're halfway there...

Does that reference date me? Probably. Whatever..

So what are guys reading as we reach the middle of 2019?

4170 The Armored Saint is $3 today: https://www.audible.com/pd/The-Armore...

I did it in hardcover and thought it was decent. It seems like the audio has pretty good reviews (4.4/5 stars) but I can't speak toward the narrator myself.

4170 Maybe ping the NE thread again (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...) with a link to this one?

You look to have gotten several responses to your doodle poll there, but only 1 other person responding here.

Your original mention of a new thread didn't have a link to this one and/or the event.

I did include a link to the event in my monthly blast, but it may be worthwhile to ping that thread for the people who have notifications turned on for it, but won't see this one unless they come actively looking for it to reply or follow it.

4170 Hmm. You're the second (I think?) person to mention Strange Dogs. Part of me wants to go read that now, the rest of me is waiting for the audiobook of Untitled Expanse Short Fiction collection that is supposed to be coming out eventually..
4170 Yeah, so it looks like it was Humble Bundle: https://www.polygon.com/2013/7/3/4491...

It appears its this Conlan Press version too..
