4170 Yeah, let's shoot for Saturday at our usual time (~12pm)? I could have maybe done an invite. Maybe ill do that for May since I don't expect we'll be able to meet then either.

4170 Not sure. like I said I've never played with discord's video option

4170 Welcome Verylene.

4170 if you're just doing voice you simply need to click on the voice channel on the S&L discord server.

If you're trying to do video, not sure how that's setup. I can look into it though and adjust any options that are needed.

4170 Same. I watched it with breakfast this morning. Best episode of the new season so far. Looking forward to see how the rest of this arc goes.

4170 Welcome David. I know a few of our members in your area like both Capclave and Awesomecon. Personally I've always been a fan of Otakon, though that's not very literary.

4170 If you just want to do voice chat on the S&L server, you don't need to be discord friends. Just join the voice channel at the same time.

I guess the Anaheim group did some kind of video chat on another discord server though. Not sure how that works.

Sorry to hear that Trike. Hopefully things stay on the mild side and you recover quickly.
Picard season 3 (121 new)

4170 I thought it was good, but not great. I binged the whole season over about 2-3 days.

I've been wanting a post-Voyager series for a long time, but instead they've done prequels and reboots. So I'm glad to finally get one.

I don't want to spend too much time picking the show apart or I'd probably enjoy it less. I hope to see more TNG/Voyager and ideally some DS9 cameos.

I really loved the part with (view spoiler) the most. Nostalgia ftw I guess.
Locke and Key (39 new)

4170 Finally got around to this a few weeks ago. I thought it started a bit slow, and it wasn't quite as dark as I remember the comic being, but overall I liked it.

It's been awhile since I read the comic so I don't remember exactly what happened to know where things were changed. I did like how they did the Head Key. Different from the book but seemed to work well for the change in medium.

4170 For my own personal challenges, I'm finished with:

Personal: 18/50 (36% complete)
Sword: 5/15 (33% complete, 8% ahead of schedule)
Laser: 6/10 (60% complete, 35% ahead of schedule)
Comics: 4/5 (80% complete, 55% ahead of schedule)

This month I've added 2 Sword, 0 Laser, 0 Graphic novels.

So I haven't been reading a whole lot. Both of my books were in audio.

I just can't get my head in that space. I've been watching TV or playing games instead. I do plan to finally finish the March pick this week in hardcover (a long borrowed library book that I guess I now own for the foreseeable future) and then do the April pick in audio, so that should be 2 Laser for April at least.

Hopefully once I finish reading the March pick I'll feel excited about reading something. Maybe I'll finally finish The Boys and then watch the TV series on Amazon. That'd give me a bunch more for my comics and finish that off that challenge way early.

Since I'm no longer commuting to work right now, my audio time has gone done, but I've taken to listen to my book around the house more than normal and I'm really enjoying the Super Powereds series in audio right now. But they are long. I'll likely finish my current one, not sure if I'll finish any others. So maybe 1 or 2 swords in April if I get back into a reading mode.

4170 I hope everyone is doing well and safe and enjoying some good books as we start into April.
4170 This thread is not for discussing the contents of the book. It's for discussing the announcement of the pick. I'll be locking it tomorrow anyways.

Please create a new thread to discuss your thoughts on the book.

4170 Boo. I'd rather have an animated sequel to rebels staring Ashley Eckstein.

4170 Personally we just used a combination of voice and text chat in discord. Worked out well for us.

I know LA used Google Hangouts though.

4170 I'm definitely see that on this thread but also several others.
4170 TW is fine by me. Not sure if we've had others with that abbreviation, but it mostly only matters that the 12 books we read in a year have a different prefix.

4170 I liked Skyward. After his Reckoners books I decided I was done with his non-cosmere/YA stuff but was suprised by that book.

I did think it started slow, but ceratainly I was enjoying it by the 2/3 mark. It might just not be for you.
