35559 I've just finished Pirates! So that's me done for this round.

35559 Amazing work everyone! And fantastic news that we've finished one of the minis.

P book is on track to be finished soon. Will shout when it's done.

35559 I'll get mine done!

Have a 4th birthday party to sort for tomorrow but book is easy going.

35559 I've found a Jamaica book so will get that done then head back into my broccoli read.

35559 Before I go hunting does anyone have a yam book planned?
Nov 06, 2024 09:20AM

35559 Right. Time to pause The Obsession as Xander will be more use than the O.

35559 It's a Nora Roberts so a pretty safe author for me.

35559 Excellent work on all the tasks everyone! Looks like we're going to have the chance to repeat some of them.

I've searched through my kindle and found broccoli in a book that is more than 2 years old and over 400p which feels like a bonus! It also helps clear my tbr which is an ongoing battle and starts with an O. Need to celebrate the little wins.

Half term is done here so returning to normal and starting to hopefully get more time to read again.
35559 The first book I just had audio and didn't even know there were illustrations!
35559 I've got the images on kindle edition which is great. Don't get left out of the fun and don't have to carry a v v chunky book about.

I'm reading small amounts of this and have got through Part 1 and the interludes.

I really enjoyed hearing Eshonai's perspective and would like more of it.

35559 I'd say specific word unfortunately.

35559 Obviously if we all could read 1000p books that are over 100 years old that fit for a mini task and a bonus while hitting our book caps each, that would be the best way to get all the points!

35559 So in Round 1 we read 90 books and were 2nd. Most teams read between 100-115, so bigger and older books with the bonuses that came with them were our friends!

What I can't easily work out is what impact the 5 points per mini task and possible 5 points for a bonus word will make to the totals.

35559 I was more thinking that if I drop my target because I honestly don't think I'll reach it this challenge then we could ask the mods to raise someone else's if someone was consistently over reading! Don't want to stress anyone else out though.

Slightly annoyed because it's the first time since my 1st challenge over 10 years ago that I've got my sign up numbers wrong!

35559 Glad you had a lovely time Mel!

Juggling work and half term means my reading has been taking a real hit. I'm hoping it will pick up again soon. Currently looks like I'll be 2 books short of my target.

Is there anyone other than Richard who is reading over their cap and thinks they'll be doing it for the rest of the challenge?

35559 Team opinion please!

For the task of 'the clue to a murder is found in paperwork' would you count a clue being found in different copies of an image that have been sent to someone?

35559 pile of poststic notes with the top being bright green. It has a smiley face and a message saying friendly reminder

The bonus words are mini specific. To make it a bit easier I have now colour coded the drop down.

Purple = Admin mini (A.... tasks)
Green = Gardening mini (G... tasks)
Orange = Feeding the Family mini (F... tasks)

35559 Dickens is an author I should try to pick up for this challenge. My reading is snails pace at the moment, so I'm picking up easy reads so that I get through some books rather than concentrating on too many bonus points and then not actually reading.

Karen - I've read the 1st part of book 2 and it starts with a bang!

35559 Woohoo well done everyone! I'm 60% through something and don't know if it will finish before the deadline or after. I'm leaning towards after as we are going to a farm for the afternoon and then staying for an evening of fireworks.

35559 Thanks for fixing that! I hoped it would be something like that rather than my formula being screwy.

My current read will work for on O, D or E and I expect I'll finish it this round.
