hahaha that's my own personal way of being able to tell which challenge I used which book for:

Yellow -- normal Tower Teams goals
Blue -- Australia Day Mini Challenge
Green -- Holiday Challenge
Red -- disqualified (because page count is too low)

Fantastic! The narrator's name begins with a K (on Audible) so it works for the Australia Day Mini-Challenge :)
35559 Jan 7 DQ Questions Sections IX: Festival & Fire and X: One White Rock

Q21: It wasn’t too surprising that Lila was able to successfully cross into Red London. After Kell gave his jacket to wear, she gave him her handkerchief. Seems right somehow, you gave me something of yours. I give you something of mine. Now we’re linked. Do you think Lila was able to cross because of the black stone, Kell and Lila’s “link” or that she may have Antari blood that has not revealed itself yet?

I think the stone definitely helped her cross, but I also think she is magical somehow. I don't think she is Antari, but she's got something.

Q22: We are learning more about Lila. What do you think of her?

She's a tough chick. She's had a hard life and she's tough as nails for it. I kinda want her to lighten up a little bit... The misunderstood act is getting a little annoying and cliche?

Q23: Do you think there will be any long term side effects of the black stone Lila and Kell are using?

Like, physically? Or in London? Eh

Q24: The Royal Guards pick Kell up at Fletcher’s shop. It appears that someone in the royal family posted a missing person’s bulletin out of concern for him not coming back when scheduled. Kell seems to know one of the guards. Ellis seems genuinely concerned about Kell and sorry for placing a cloth over his moith. Why do you think Ellis drugged Kell? Why kill Fletcher? Who do you think issued the missing person bulletin?

I already finished the book so I will not comment on this do to SPOILERS!

Q25. At the festivities, Parrish notices a black eyed stranger cutting between tents heading toward the riverbank. When they confront him, the stranger thrust his blackened hand through Gen’s armor and says “dark heart”. Is the magic able to see who a person truly is? Why was the stranger heading towards the river? Do you think now that Gen is infected with the dark magic that he will complete the stranger’s journey?

I'm gonna do the math and research how many books will ACTUALLY work for any of these words anyway. I'll get back to y'all ;)

35559 Ok guys...here's the thing about the puzzle...

If we choose to do the puzzle, we will have ZERO GOALLESS BOOKS LEFT.

Remember that we do not gain points for books used in the crossword, what it allows us to do is double the points of ONE BOOK READ IN DECEMBER PER WORD. We have already doubled the points of our longest books in December.

So here is the question: Do we want to fill in the crossword, which I can do, and double 6 book's points? Or do we want to save some of our goalless books, only fill in a couple words on the crossword (instead of all six), and see what new goals we get with the MEGA BOON?

35559 6-Jan VII: The Follower - VIII: An Arrangement

Q16: "I'd rather die on an adventure than live standing still." - Lily. This appears to be Lily's philosophy on life. What do you think of this quote/worldview? Are you similar?

I think this is a wonderful motto, one which I share. It is basically the same as "You only live once" and "Live as if you'll die tomorrow" etc. Lila is so full of spunk and life. I love how she is becoming a little less guarded around Kell. This is a great book with characters that I really enjoy, I am quite pleased!

Q17: It seems as if we know the least about Lily and her background at this point. We know more about Kell, Holland, Rhys, etc. Do you think she has a back story that will be fleshed out more? Or is she just going to stay the sole plucky sassy female character? Any theories?

I hope we learn more about her? I know this is meant to be a trilogy, so perhaps we will learn more of her background throughout the next couple books. I feel like this book is meant to be a little more about Kell and the introduction of magic/shades of London than it is about Lila. She seems more of a supporting character right now.

Q18: Do you like the writing style of constantly switching point-of-view between characters between chapters?

I like multiple points-of-view in books. This one is done pretty well, and I like that the POV changes more quickly as the action gets more intense. It leaves me on the edge of my seat.

Q19: Holland seems very ruthless. Why do you think he did not kill Kell? Or did he intend to?

I don't know... I don't think Holland wants to kill him. Deep down, I think Holland sees Kell as his ultimate adversary, his equal almost. Kell gives Holland a thrilling challenge, and Holland respects that.

Q20: Does the stone remind anyone of any other story? (The ring in Lord of the Rings immediately came to mind, and the horcruxes in Harry Potter). Do you think the stone CAN be destroyed? Will Kell be able to do it?

I IMMEDIATELY thought of the ring in LOTR haha It kind of bummed me out...I was like "oh nooo not again...been there done that!" I would have liked something a little more original. I am sure the stone can probably be destroyed, but once again this is supposed to be a trilogy, so maybe it will take all three books to build Kell's willpower to destroy the stone.
