I've started and stopped reading the tainted cup at least 2-3 times. For some reason, I just couldn't get into it. I should give it another shot at some point. Did you read or listen to the book? Wondering if that makes a difference.

35559 Hey team,

First off, I want to apologize for shuffling books around without explaining why. That wasn’t fair to anyone, and I can see how it could be frustrating or confusing. Moving forward, if a book gets moved, we’ll make sure to drop a quick note explaining the reason so everyone’s in the loop.

A quick clarification too: if someone is reading a book for a very specific, niche task (e.g., set in Cambodia, spell out Z, cow on the cover, etc.), it won’t be moved. The player is probably going out of their way to read something that fits that task, and we want to keep it fair to them. Plus, those kinds of tasks can be hard to backfill later.

On the other hand, for more flexible books—like ones that qualify for MPG romance, easy countries, or easy spell-out letters—we might shift things around if it helps us cover more ground. For example, if someone else reads a book that only fits MPG romance, and another book is more versatile and could fit a future task, we might make a swap to maximize points. Hope that makes sense.

Let’s also be kind to one another as we navigate this. Please try to avoid reading for a task that’s already been claimed (no one’s done this—just getting ahead of any confusion). And to keep things manageable for everyone, let’s aim to stick to 2–3 claimed tasks at a time, especially if they’re on the easier side like MPG romance or spelling out common letters.

When we all signed up for this challenge, I think it’s safe to say we wanted to give it our best shot at winning—and we, as captains and co-captains, are doing everything we can to help the team succeed. That said, we also want this to be fun and enjoyable for everyone.

At the end of the day, we’re here because we love reading and enjoy being part of something together. So let’s keep lifting each other up, have some fun, and keep turning those pages!

Thanks again for being such a great team ❤️

Thanks for the context. Did you get a chance to add those books to the SS? No rush, but whenever you do, we can find minis for them. Also, as a reminder, minis are just bonuses. The biggest chunk of points we earn come from the number of pages read. So no, your books are never wasted. Please add them whenever you get a chance.

35559 Thanks team! Some of these tasks, we just want to get through quickly, so we keep moving them around. We also move tasks when someone reads a book that doesn’t fit a whole of tasks. I hope y’all don’t take that personally, just doing what’s best for points :)

35559 Perfect! Were you able to finish the outsiders? We would need that read before the cow task, since outsiders is time bound.
May 20, 2025 04:44PM

35559 We need to read a book that's MPG Spirituality. Dropping a link to the GR page, if anyone finds anything interesting: https://www.goodreads.com/genres/Spir...

Also need to read a book with a cow on the cover. I've looked through a few lists, but didn't have any luck with finding a book for this task. If anyone finds any options, please drop us some suggestions.

35559 And one more task:
Read a book that is in the Food for the Soul List
