I think so? I haven't read anything else by Sanderson either. This is the first book in the series, so I'm assuming there would be enough background, even if it is a spin off.

Jun 2 - Great Big Beautiful Life
Jun 16 - The Berry Pickers
I signed up for DQs for the second one. On the fence about the first, not my preferred trope

1. Each itinerary must include at least 3 medium and 2 hard countries.
2. We can’t repeat countries across more than 2 itineraries. Some countries are repeated in the committed books above. So, if we reach the country cap, please consider other tasks the books can be used for.
While hard countries give us the highest points, we also want to tackle the other minis. For the wheel mini, we need to finish all the tasks for a country before we can get another spin.

Thanks Laura! Can I ask you to add this info to one of your reserved posts up top, so it's easy to find?

I really liked this series the first time I read it. But I tried a re-read a few years ago, and I just couldn't get into it 🤷♀️

My name is Aiswrya (aish-war-ya). I live in New Jersey (eastern time zone) with my husband. No kids or pets yet. I’ve played TT several times over the years, although I did take a break during the last couple rounds. When it comes to reading, I read pretty much most genres. Horror is a no no for me, and I’ve been staying away from psych thrillers. I love mysteries, especially murder mysteries and always have an audiobook going irrespective of what else I’m reading at the time.
I’ve told myself that this challenge is the perfect time to read those huge, epic fantasy novels I’ve been putting off for years. I’m going to start with LOTR, and let’s see where the challenge takes me from there.
Super excited to meet everyone and play another fun round of this challenge!

RULES
Mini 1 - Novels Around the World
Mini 2 - Traveling Around the World - Can bank books
Mini 3 - World Wheel
◈ Books must be started after the start date of the challenge to count towards the challenge
◈ Books must be >100 pages.
◈ Books with MPGs Childrens / Kids / Poetry / Play / Graphic Novel / Illustrated / Photography / Art / Cookbook (or which have "Illustrated" in the title or an "Illustrator" contributor in the metadata) must have at least 30,000 words (must be a verified count. sites that provide estimated word counts are not valid sources for verifying word count). ArBookFind is a great site to double check (there are also .co.uk and .com.au versions). If in doubt, ask your captain. A good rule of thumb is that if the audio is over 3 hours, the book will be long enough.
◈ Any book in any language will count, as long as it meets the criteria.
◈ "Re-reads" will be allowed, if it has been six months since you have read the book.
◈ Spell-it-Out Rules: Use the first letter in the book’s title, series name, author’s first/last name, character’s first/last name, narrator’s first/last name (if listening to an audiobook), or translator’s first/last name (if reading a translation). You may ignore (or not) “A,” “An,” or “The” at the start of titles.
